Move where!?!?
Dude... you all have known me since 2012. I've spent 13 years in the CG before that and I'm at 24 years of service in just a few weeks. I've been assigned to 13 locations, 6 of those ships with 12 years of sea time. 1 year in the arctic isolated duty and 1.5 years in the middle east during OIF/OND, ...

Re: Get it done
We callstuff like that "voyage repair". When something needs an immediate fix to get you somewhere till you can get it fixed right lager..later... just don't let the voyage repair be permanent because then it's a Bubba mod.

Weather here in the Hampton Roads isnt bad. Gets chilly, but snows in Feb or March like 1 time. Rain is typical, or just dry and chilly. A The heater core in my truck is in great shape and it works. I tested the heater last weekend. I intend to drive it often. My m38 jeep project is almost done too....

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Changed plans last night. Instead of doing oil filter leak, I hooked up all yhe gauge and fan controller. I got it to turn on as designed, and I took shipwrecked on its shakedown drive thru the neighborhood. To do: Install new speedometer cable Wire housekeeping Brake adjustment Steering alignment F...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Little tinkering today. I found my oil filter assembly leaks- tattle tale showed me it was leaking there, not the front timing chain cover. I slightly remember installing that assembly like 6 years ago. I had to get it from inside the block. It's not so bad I want to tackle it this week. I got the t...

Re: Valve cover breather/oil fill
there is a gasket under it. it's like the thing is too tall.
I am going to try something. I went on ebay and ordered a nos cap for a galexie. i know this engine came from a truck, but the aftermarket cap i bought was for a 60 truck (which this is from).

Valve cover breather/oil fill
Question- shouldn't the breather/oil fill fit snug when twisted and locked in? This one I got from Dennis carpenter wiggles on here. I ran the engine the other day and it just loosened itself completely. Moment I get it on the road, I'd lose it! https://i.postimg.cc/FzcMQ6sQ/20221001-172122.jpg Got ...
