Did mine the same way as Steve, used the stock filler pipe, and new rubber hose.

Put your water hose on slow and lay on roof so that it just wets the gutter. that will give you an ideal where its leaking...

This is how I see it. If your going to pull an axle to check spline, why not just pull the chunk out and count teeth?

I personally like the throttle "rod" better than I do cables. You can get the "feel" better. Sorry. no help on yours. One thing I might note, on my truck the idle would never return back to the same place, found out it was the advance in the distributor sticking...

If the knob is going to be reused, I used a little heat from a heat gun and warmed up the back of the pin pretty good, and used a wide blade screwdriver to pry it off, if your not reusing just cut it off.
