Re: Need help!!! May have mounted a motor wrong?

I always make the carb mounting flange level. That said, it is what dictates your crankshaft/tranny out put angle. You want the rearend to mirror that angle. You don't want a perfectly straight line from output to rearend, if the tailshaft is pointed down at 3* the rearend should be pointed up at 3*...

Re: '62 Unibody Still Plugging Along

Never set it on anything else. Bought it specifically for the Maverick. Was the plan from day 1. Now it's gone and the Fairmont is sitting there!

Re: NEED HELP!!

Give the center section a good cleaning and visually inspect all the gear teeth and bearings you can see as you slowly turn it over. Sometimes a good flush and new grease can buy a lot of miles. If the teeth show any pitting, I would replace everything. Any parts store should be able to get the bear...

Re: Bleeding power brakes

I bench bleed the MC before mounting it on the booster, then bleed as usual.

Most people pick up the vacuum at the base of the carb or from a carb spacer.

Re: Differences in 351w harmonic balancers

Save some time and money. Go straight to this balancer. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Professional-Products-Small-Block-Ford-Harmonic-Balancers,1802.html Get a 28oz imbalance. It has 3 hole and 4 hole bolt patterns. Used these for years and they are so much easier to work with. It also has spacers a...

I eat, write and billfold left handed. I throw a ball, play pool, play guitar, write on a chalkboard (or road with paint or a marker, old surveying habit) right handed. I can go either way with painting, batting, wrenching, hammering or about anything else. Broke my right arm when I was a kid and le...

Re: Recommendations for Body Repair

Since the style line runs down the side of the bed for a longer distance, the long bed trucks have a lower style line on the end cap. Somewhere on here there's a post about somebody putting one on a shortbed and all the work it took to make it work/look right. Since you said you are a newbie at body...

I've had epoxy filler that didn't cure well. Usually comes down to not enough hardner or not mixed well enough. You've shamed me into getting to work. Just ordered $250 worth of body supplies from Eastwood because of your posts. Thanks for all your sharing, really enjoy your attitude and ability to ...

Have one I've been playing with. Some day everyone will think that slicks came with tilt forward hoods as many as there are getting to be. It's a great setup!
