Re: Oil test equipment
No. We do falling ball tests daily and send samples out to a Lab every quarter. This test equipment was an old system. We have a spectromkit onboard we also use.

Oil test equipment
Now if you’ve seen my Facebook, you’d seen this already. In my ships engineroom, we have cabinets full of tools, test equipment and the like. We found this box. https://i.postimg.cc/DZs6bw1z/20201110_083942.jpg Labeled for engine oil tester. Inside we found expired canned food. https://i.postimg.cc/...

Re: Distributor
Okay- i wasn't sure if they wanted a specific core. I can order the 300 dizzy and do the swap project. To answer the question about my dizzy... I had read a bunch about the loadomatic dizzy is terrible and If I am not using the specific carb it sure was garbage. Heck I don't even know what dizzy min...

Distributor
How can you tell what engine a distributor went into? Example, I have a six cylinder dizzy that I got last year in a stack of parts. He had a 64 or 65. But it wasn’t a 223. No markings on the dizzy that I can see. I want to replace my 223 dizzy but need something that will fit. Considering a 300 swa...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Im pretty sure I have my transmission linkage backwards. When I put it in 2... it goes to Reverse. When I put it in 3, it is 1. I spent time today chasing this mystery sound. still cant find it. I am going to drop the pan and check my bearings. I also have to check and see if it is the rear main tha...

Kevin stone Copperstate components kit installed. You definitely need more that yourself to do this- hence why i...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Not yet. We had a ridiculous in port period with the lowest bidder doing work and almost resulted in a major catastrophe. My #1 ship service diesels generator prime mover destroyed itself at the main bearings, like fatal condition of a Diesel engine age 38 years old. We have 21 days to change it out...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Got a little courage yesterday to finally wire in a breaker to my electrical panel in my house so I could wire up the air compressor. We unwired it in 2017 when I left the New Jersey house. I moved to VA and the first house just wasn’t big enough in the garage to do anything. Then I bought my schnau...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Home from another round of WTf... at least we made it to and from on our own, with a lot less hassle than before. Sailed 72 days from VA to Cuba, to Panama Canal, Pacific waters and then back through the Canal to home. Two days ago my #1 ship service diesel generator lost its oil pump. Can’t fix tha...

Re: '63 Steering Column
The bigger piece can be bought online. I have one from a Thunderbird i think and its buried somewhere in my build thread the part number and where I purchased it. My 63 column didn't have any other rubber pieces that I recall. My YouTube has a video I posted for fixing my colum a few months back. Se...
