Re: Heater core?

There was a guy who soldered one together out of an econoline core. I know when mine goes out I will figure something out.

Re: Heater core?

If you find someone that does, please let us know. It is one of the parts that as far as we know, they don't make repops.

Re: Anyone else get a '60 edsel hood release handle and cabl

Wow! I had the same idea. I was going to hook the end to a hood latch off of a 97 astro van. You would have to build a bracket, but the latch itself is only about 15 bucks on rockauto. Good luck.

Re: Rookie Question: 1963 223/240 To 1965 300 Interchange

Also, forget using the mount from the 223. It won't work. I used a bolt in crossmember for a FE engine to get mine in.

Re: Rookie Question: 1963 223/240 To 1965 300 Interchange

I swapped a 63 F100 with a 223 over to a 300. The transmissions and bell housings are different. The good news is that the 240/300 has a lot more options for transmissions and bell housings.

Re: Auto trailer advise

I nail chocks into the deck on mine from time to time. Never had a problem getting to my ramps, but I could see a lot of utility in having 7' ramps, for sure.

Re: Auto trailer advise

I moved from Georgia to New Mexico with a Big Tex trailer rated 7k gross, trailer weighs 2k. It pulls really well with my Nissan Titan. I paid about 2 grand for it in 2011, and still use it. Unless you move somewhere really dry (like here) the wood deck should be good. The good thing about getting a...

Re: headlight relays

I used to make a bolt on plug and play module to do this, but parts alone were thirty some odd dollars. I posted a thread about who my electrofunk suppliers were. I'll go look for it.

I have been able to post pictures from Google Photos. This forum seems to tolerate it, but others don't.

Re: Dan's 1963 F100 split uni (with cross flow radiator)

Went for a Saturday cruise. My route took me through some residential stuff, then the frontage road, and finally on the highway. The highway is slightly uphill as you go toward the NASA installation. I got in with traffic and cruised at 70 no problem. Still some pinging when decelerating, but nothin...

Re: Dan's 1963 F100 split uni (with cross flow radiator)

Radiator install finished with top sheet metal (from the fluorescent light) in place. I am really tempted to take it all apart again and paint everything. While I am at it I need to finish tying the wire harness together. The rubber piece on the bottom of the top mount is a piece I cut out of what l...

Re: New Guy From Texas

Hello from New Mexico I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the variety of parts that are available nowadays. There are also a lot of swaps that people have figured out where you can use newer parts to keep your old truck going. Good luck with the carb setup and be sure to post pictures. Dan

found this piece of sheet metal that used to be part of a fluorescent light. It has a nice springy quality to it.

Made rubber pieces to cover the cradle claw things. These are 5/8 heater hose. Nik unrolled a roll of bubble wrap to entertain himself.
