18x10 wheel fitment
Ok, I got a killer deal on some wheels. I wanted wider wheels in the back anyway.. I bought 6 wheels 4 18x10 with 45mm , two 18x10 30mm. I am running 1.5 inch adapters/spacers and currently have 18x8.5 inch wheels with 45mm offset and they fit fine. If possible I want to run 18x10 on all four corner...

Projector headlights
I am doing a pro-touring patina build... I decided to buy the projector headlights.
Not sure how I feel about them.. I am going to marinate. For those of you into non stock stuff, thoughts?

Offenhauser 360 Intake
Ladies and Gents, I ended up with an Offenhauser 360 intake manifold for next to nothing and figured it has to be better than the old cast stock unit. Anyone have any first hand experience with the old School offenhausers? I have a holley Next gen 600 and a mild cam, just looking for a little more u...

Re: 1965 F100 Stepside Build (perpetual project)
So.. I have been in beast mode when it comes to buying/installing parts. I have been driving the truck locally a few days a week although want to start trusting it more to go further outside my comfort zone.. Here is what I have purchased in the last 2 weeks and am getting ready to install in / on t...

Re: 1965 F100 Stepside Build (perpetual project)
I have done quite a bit of work recently.
Got the coolant and oil pressure gauges working
Installed an HEI distributor with built in coil
New fuel lines and filter
New 8mm spark plug wires
Wrestling with what I am assuming is a clocked cam issue..
But the truck runs well, miles of smiles.

Re: Ignition Timing vac/idle
I am checking vacuum at the manifold vacuum port.
I am continuing to work on it. I did end up swapping the distributor etc. to the HEI to at minimum rule them out. Went well. Although the symptoms are the same. So that means my distributor and duraspark were fine. So I can go back that route.

Re: Ignition Timing vac/idle
The truck does really well at the upper end of the rpm range (over 2500 rpm) no stumbles or hicups. The vac advance is on the ported nipple. The Holley is a next gen with vacuum advance and I verified that it operates as well. I think I am going to keep tweaking the timing until it spark knocks and ...

Re: Ignition Timing vac/idle
Thank you for your insight. I honestly don't know the answers to the dual diaphram question. There is much more I don't know about this setup than I do know which is why I have been prone to replacing parts so I know my baseline. My balancer does have degree marks all the way up to 40 btdc. I put a ...

Re: Ignition Timing vac/idle
I am working my way through the process. This is my first "classic". My previous cars have all been tune by laptop via wolf 3D, haltech, mega squirt etc or my last hotrod LS project was on the atomic LS. Back to basics here for sure, but still getting the hang of it. I plugged the vacuum a...

Re: Ignition Timing vac/idle
I have verified TDC and the damper is new.
Anyone have thoughts on the HEI conversion? If I swap distributors might be a good upgrade?

Re: Ignition Timing vac/idle
The motor appears to have been rebuilt (has been painted and has all new gaskets, also doesn't smoke or leak. I am going to check compression. I have no idea on cam, although it has a mild lope but I wasn't sure if that was because of the poor tune. It definitely like lots of advance. When I unplugg...
