Re: Stock style master cylinder
I'm thinking mine was a Wagner Got it from Autozone I'm thinking 3-4 years ago , still perfect Amazon has a Wagner premium for $53. That's $10 more than I paid for the Cardone. But hopefully it's better quality. https://www.amazon.com/Wagner-MC37781-Premium-Cylinder-Assembly/dp/B000C90SM4/ref=pd_sb...

Stock style master cylinder
My 3 month old replacement master cylinder is already bad. It's leaking down the inside of the firewall and not building up any pressure. It's a Cardone Select 13-37781. Looks like it was a 90 day warranty so it managed to last just barely that long...

Rear spring shackle differences
Is there any difference between a '63 and '65-66 rear shackle? I thought the rear suspension was unchanged between the early and later slicks. I see lots of aftermarket shackles for '65-66, but not many options for a '61-64.

Found a guy on Youtube that has a later model slick with the same motor swapped in. Looks like it fits pretty well.

'93 Lincoln 4.6L, good donor for engine swap?
Friend of mine just offered me a '93 4.6l Lincoln DOHC motor and trans. The combo has about 90k miles and was running great when it was pulled. Anybody familiar with these motors? Would it bolt up to a Crown Vic front crossmember if I do a Crown Vic front end swap?

Wow! Fantastic job.
Any details on the seat? That looks to give a lot more leg room than a standard factory bench.

Re: Autolite 1100 air cleaner ?s
I have a lead on an air cleaner from a mid 60's F100 with a 240. Looks close to the pics of the 223 air cleaners. Does anyone know if it will fit? Does the 240 use an Autolite 1100?

Autolite 1100 air cleaner ?s
Does anyone have any pics of how the 1100 attaches to the stock air cleaner? Or suggestions for an aftermarket setup? I found a good 1100 and have it mounted and the truck finally runs. But I have no air cleaner and i'm not having much luck finding one, or making some kind of adapter. I have the air...

Re: Crazy question
Lots if people use the electric fan setup from a Taurus for an electric fan upgrade. Don't know if it would work for a slick, you would have to measure.

Re: Wrong Carb?
I have a carter on one of my 223's and a pertronix in the dizzy, and it performs much better than than the original carb that was professionally rebuilt Do you know the model number? Mine is a 118-178. From what i've found it came on other Fords of the era. The Pertronix setups don't seem to be too ...

Re: Wrong Carb?
If you still have the Load-O-Matic style distributor it will not run correctly. The vac advance for a LOM setup is run off of vacuum signals from the carb's spark control valve, so if the carb has no SCV the advance will not function properly. There are two choices of carbs for the Load-O-Matic set...

Re: Ignition lock cylinder issues
Got the new ignition switch installed last weekend. There is a little half moon shaped piece in the new one that my old one is missing. That must be what actually locks the cylinder in.

Wrong Carb?
My '63 with a factory 223 that appeared to be all original seems to have the wrong carb. The thing is nasty and I was looking to get a rebuild kit when the descriptions weren't adding up. From what i've read it should have an AutoLite 1100. But it has a Carter 118-178. It this going to cause issues ...

It does, thank you. Mine has all the parts the one in the pic does. I went ahead and ordered a new switch. Must be something missing or broken on that side.

Re: Ignition lock cylinder issues
Yeah, I watched a couple of those videos, but they don't really help me. The release doesn't matter for me I can insert it and remove it without it. I'm trying to figure out if the tumbler or the housing is broken.

Ignition lock cylinder issues
Since I got the truck i've been having trouble with the ignition lock assembly falling out. It still works but there is nothing holding it secure inside the ignition assembly. I've read the steps to remove it using the little pin hole and turning past acc, but I don't know which part is supposed to ...

Re: Do y'all make your own battery cables?
I do. Ever since a couple week old Autozone cable cost me a tow truck bill. I use welding cable and an impact crimper. It's easy and you can make them to custom lengths. I use military grade battery terminals from Napa (NW 728222 and NW 728223). I really like the design and looks of them.
