My personal preference is Shell Rotella-T 30 wt with a half quart of Crane break in oil. Run it for about 1000 miles, change the oil/ filter, put in the rest of the break in oil and go for it.
With the Rotella-T you shouldn't need any more additive after the first two oil changes.

Re: Finally -----------
Just about done with this part of the bed assembly process. I need to set the bed, mount the fuel tank and take the two center boards out to index and cut the hole for the fuel filler. I will set pretty close to what you see in the picture. I'm pretty happy with the Mar-k parts. But if you do a flai...

Re: SHORTENING MY SHAFT
I wasn't going to touch this one but................. I have a 33" long stock column. If you're going to shorten the one you have take it to a professional welder and have him TIG it. Take no chances here. Mock it up with a dowel or old broom stick to get your useable length. But remember, when...

There were thousands of folks here this year, lots of very interesting parts, cars and trucks including Slicks. But I thought these were really interesting. Strange days indeed. Most peculiar mamma. Bread truck rat rods and COE's. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj117/SkipinHouston/other%20stuff/...

Re: Pate
Well, Pate is officaly over for another year. Everybody I know who went had a great time, we met some new members, met some people who will become new members and renewed some old friendships. PFM will have to confirm the actual number, but it seems to me we had at least 30 people in attendance. Wis...

Truckster, I'll be there in the morning and I'll probably leave when everyone else does. I have your plug so we need to figure a way for you to get it.
Do you have anyone I can give it to?

Re: speedometer cable questions
LMC has them for your truck. P/N #47-2030 for about $20.00.
Page 90 in the current catalog. Call Tom at Flashback F100's. I'm betting he has them too.

Well, he front sheet metal is done. I'll put the hood on next week after my pinstriper is done with it. All that's left is finish the wiring and the bed and I'm back "on the road again". http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj117/SkipinHouston/white21_zps4b1fe716.jpg http://i270.photobucket....

Re: Firewall disconnect for main power wire
I posted something like this in the hints and tricks section, but take a look. You probably can't overload a single 10 gauge wire with your harness no matter what you add on. The only caveat is the power for an amplifier. And you need an inline 100+ amp fuse inline from the battery directly to the a...

More progress to report today. Installing the grill without destroying your new paint job is a two man project. Thank you BroncoTom and Toys for the extra hands, eyes, opinions and sarcasm today. The pin striper will have to wait until I get back from Pate before I can put on the hood. Thanks guys. ...

Somebody posted that they were thinking of bringing a '66 cab to Pate but I can't find the original post. Anybody know anything about this or was I dreaming?

Thanks guys.

Re: Disappointed in Dennis Carpenter Mirror
If you're going to buy mirrors for your truck, get them from Tom at Flashback F100's end of story. the ones he sells are first class, clear the vent window and the heads will not sag like all the others. I just put a set on Nadine and I'm a very happy camper. U@ss http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/...

....... that there are over 204 thousand posts on the Truck Talk and Off Subject forums alone?
And that doesn't include any of the other topics we have on here. Never thought about that before.
Thanks Lance, Jim Dog and Kid, for a great place to call home on the net.

See, the windows really aren't white like the truck. Pretty pleased with the lack of overspray too. I didn't wait three days.... I just couldn't. I started flooring the bed today too and the strips on the sides of the bed are "bump rails" to protect and stiffen the sides and front panel of...
