Re: '61 Dana 44 vs '64 Dana 44?
I have a 3.73 LS Dana 44 out of my 64 if you want it. I narrowed a 9.75 for a 4 link swap. 50 bucks? Could probably use seals... no rust as it is an AZ truck. OK, is it a locker? If so Depending on shipping that sounds fine. I'm in the south west MO. area so It might be easier to just get the carri...

Dana 44 19 spline to 30 spline conversion?
I've been trying to find out more about my Dana 44 rear end out of a 61 f-100, its likely 1 3.92"1 but its a locker. I read online that the 60s Dana 44s are 19 spline. I need 3.33s or what ever Dana has compared to the 9 inches 3.25s in my truck now. So I;m needing a affordable 2.72-3.73 locker...

380 a piece sounds kind of high. https://www.generalspringkc.com/product_p/43-244.htm wow that looks like it may have dropped some. and I knew general had the cheapest but I also have no way of gauging how good their products are. but I may have just forgot and got to thinking the 380 price was ave...

Re: 64 front spings look like knives & bottoms out fairly ea
Several places in southwest Missouri you can find those. Some very old junkyard there. Be sure to get new bushings for the springs and shackles. Makes a lot of difference in drive quality. Not as much wandering around of the front end. And 380 does sound very high but these do come with new bushing...

Re: Tailgate lower rubber bumper $, just sheet metal screws?
Just measured mine on my 64. They are 9 1/8" from the top of the bed. Don't have a solution to the gate not latching well. The old style latches did require a little SLAMMING to get it to close. Most late model trucks now have a bear claw type latch that makes them shut easier. From the top of...

Re: Tailgate lower rubber bumper $, just sheet metal screws?
Never slam the tailgate on one of these trucks. Pull handle out and close it. You may not have things adjusted right, although I don't recall there being much adjustment to the tailgate, just the pieces on the bed. Also, repeated slamming will cause damage to the parts. Well I'm not slamming it rea...
