Re: inner fenders
The right big truck inner fender doesn't have the battery hump but it also doesn't have the bulge out toward the radiator at the front. The right inner is straight front to back, the left still has the hump in towards the radiator. I would think you could remove the mounts for the 65 inners from the...

For anyone that hasn't got the joy of playing with digital slot cars, you have no idea what you are missing. 2 lanes, you can change lanes on certain sections of track or stay in the lane you are already in. You can change lanes multiple times a lap. With a 2 lane track we can run 6 different cars w...

Re: Slots of fun!
Alan, I sent PB a nasty email to the tech department. Don't waste any time on that first letter, it will just be a robot responding. I sent a really nasty letter to them after getting the robot response and after 4 or 5 days my PB mysteriously started working again. That's happened twice now. Beat t...

Slots of fun!
I've had a Carrera Digital 1/32 slot set for a few years but never put all of it up at once. It takes a lot of room. Finally committed a room in the basement to it. 16' long, 8' wide at one end and 4' wide at the other. Hill, couple banked turns, 3 places for lane switching and a pit stop area. It's...

Re: Auto trailer advise
I like torsion axles better than springs. I like aluminum wheels more than steel wheels. Dovetail is a must. LED lights are a must. So much brighter and safer. My ramps store in from the passenger side. Be aware of your surroundings and you will do fine. Think before you park/load. I use a 2-5/8&quo...

Re: Seats
I put '93 T-Bird seats in my '57 F100 since it came without a seat, they worked OK. When I was parting out a very rusty '61 Unibody I reupholstered the seat out of it and put it in my '57. Ride was better, seating angle was better and felt like my tilt steering had more usable adjustment range. Mayb...

Flat spots are more a nylon cord thing. They were the worst at flat spotting.

Pat and Grump, that's how I am. I kind of know how to do a few things but then it quite working and nothing makes me madder than the people that own something you depend on not doing their jobs. PB is bad enough to work with since it has all the commercials, siting thru those then not being able to ...

Re: Radial or bias?
The radials will be better to drive on. The bias will be harsher ride with less grip. You will get less life from a belted tire than a radial and they are less forgiving on alignment than a radial is. If I was going to really drive it, I would go radial. If it's going to be a period correct show pie...

I'm about fed up with dealing with these idiots, anyone know of a better answer that will still let us post pictures on this site? This is the only site I deal with that I still have to use a 3rd party source to share pictures. First my account showed it was at 98.7% full all of a sudden. I tried to...

Re: 390 Build
I've had engines that wouldn't oil without turning the crank slightly once and a while. Glad to see you using Brad Penn. Good stuff with the right amount of ZDDP for our old flat tappet engines. Ran it in solid lifter race engines for years without a single cam/lifter failure and we ran a lot more R...

Re: 1966 f100 with bronco instrument cluster
I would think the 3 speed and 4 speed are both 1:1 high gear which means it doesn't affect tooth count. there may be mechanical differences in a 3 speed gear vs a 4 speed gear but I don't think so. You usually worry about the rearend gear when picking speedometer gears. It's about the relation of th...

I had a tire going down while out running around. I stopped by a gas station to fill it up. Their little compressor on the side of the building was broken so I headed down the road to the next place. Got there and they wanted 25 cents for air. I wasn't about to pay for air. The other place was free....

Re: Did I get scammed on my widsheld?
I supplied the glass and rubber on my '57. Shop charged $75 to pop it in. They said they had quit using sealant with new rubber and a good pinch weld. He even took out the old windshield, did some hammer and dolly work to make the pinch weld nice and installed the new glass. I would say you got hose...
