Re: Reevaluation time
I am completely baffled why you think you need to change the entire drivetrain to tow a trailer with two motorcycles. I tow a 2550 lb race car on a STEEL double axle car trailer with my completely stock 352 3spd. Oh, and the bed is fully loaded with everything I need for a race weekend. I've...

Re: Looking for back editions of This Old Truck Magazine
Was it still This Old Truck back then, or had it changed to Vintage Truck? (PBS threatened legal action which is why the name changed)
I know people advertise their back issues in the magazine itself. If you're a subscriber the ads are free to place.

Re: whats with chevy dudes?
I'll admit, I'm the kind of guy who will open that door. I'm the curious type, and if someone has a Brand X installed in their Slick I will ask the question. There are legit answers "I had it in the shop already, so decided to use it" or "I just always liked these engines" gain n...

Re: 66 Ford pickup - exterior side chrome mouldings
Rick had made them before, but ran out. I don't know how many he sold; sort of sounded like they may not have been very profitable the first time around. Check with him for the current status. I bought a set several years ago when he had them and they are very nice.

I just checked the weather...looks good, so I'm going. Meeting at Wayne's before the show opens. So for sure it's Charlie, Wayne and myself.

Re: rare and "original"360 FE
Had me one of those discussions with a guy selling a trio of Falcon project cars. He was adamant that the one I was interested in was a 1968...even though it had 1969 side marker lights (which are significantly different). I later decoded the door tag and...yup...1969. Of course, he also told me rep...

Re: All Ford car show 7/27
Don't know why we couldn't, count wise, again don't know. From trying to organize a gtg before and knowing how people bail out at the last minute, I can count on 1 truck being there, mine. It will be totally weather dependent for me. Not driving 2hrs if it's likely to be an ugly day. That's about t...

Bench seat 65 vs 77
Has anyone had both? Wayne gave me a '77 seat that I was going to use as a 'temp' while I re-did mine but I'm wondering if one is more comfortable than the other? Looks like a recover kit is about the same for either year. I know they both fit the truck ok, just trying to figure out which one is bet...

Re: What made you do it?
I used to keep an old truck around to haul parts and tow my dune buggy with. The first was a '66 Chevy that I never really liked. Sold it and bought this for $200: https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/400900_10150559653571055_1019203651_n.jpg It was twice the truck the Chevy was; a...

The no-brakes was on the green 302 truck. The lines rusted out. I think the '66 is functional.

Re: new guy from MN
Your truck was built in Aug 1963, so it's in the very first run of '64 model year trucks (started with S/N 445001). My friend Charlie has a 223 powered truck and is very pleased with how it runs. I have a Pertronix in my V8 and it's been totally trouble free for the 10 years I've owned it. Welcome t...

Re: Who has/had a S197 Mustang?
If only they had the 'new' V6, I wouldn't want a V8. But, a large part of the Mustang experience for me will be the sound produced by the exhaust, and a six just won't work. Beat you to 50 or he bought a mustang??? Or Both?? LOL He bought his Mustang within the last 6 months. Same bleeping co...

Hmmm...may try to hit that one, since it's narrow enough in focus I won't be bored by all the small block Chevy powered vehicles.
