Re: '62 F100 Uni - yes another Crown Vic swap
Good call on the LED Lighting. My Truck-Lite headlights showed up tonight. Although the price is ridiculous, I'm probably to go with these for my taillights: http://www.easyperformance.com/products/product-detail/id/EPF-CST10-FDT67-72/name/1967-72ford-truck-sequential-led-tail-lights#Image-Disclaime...

Re: 67-72 Taillights in 65-66 Bezels?
I guess the question didn't come out right. If someone has a 67+ taillights on their 65/66 with the 65/66 bezels, I'd like to see a picture of how it looks. I already have the 67-72 lenses and housings. Surely someone has done this before. I'd like to see how it looks before I order the 65/66 bezels.

This build is awesome! There are ton of finishing steps that you have done, that most folks wouldn't have even thought of.

Factory Radio Conversions
I have the standard AM radio in my 65 F100. I see there are a couple of people doing the conversions to add bluetooth, external inputs/speaker outputs: Richard Blankenship and Andrew Bauer I like the idea of using the radio with the dash speaker, then would hook up some additional speakers later, if...

67-72 Taillights in 65-66 Bezels?
I picked up a pair of 67-72 taillight lenses and housings to use with my 1965 F100. I'm going to wire up the reverse lights to work with my ZF-5 Transmission.
I'd like to get a set of original 65-66 bezels for my truck.
Does anyone have a photo of 67+ taillights in in a 65/66 housing?

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
Thanks for the kind words gents! I'm getting close to finding out how much fun it will be to drive. I got the Classic Instruments gauge(s) hooked up this weekend. It was tough to bite the bullet and buy it, but I really like how clean it looks with just the one gauge in the dash. It came with fuel, ...

Re: Reduced diameter factory style steering wheels?
This is the factory steering wheel on my new Ididit column. I measured the steering wheel at 17". http://www.slick60s.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=921&image_id=12622 I might reuse the steering wheel wrap for nostalgia purposes, so technically I could just chop the three spokes and attach ...

Reduced diameter factory style steering wheels?
I'd like to find an OEM appearing 3 spoke 14-15" steering wheel for my 65 Custom Cab. I have the chrome horn ring and would like to be able to use this with the new wheel. I've wore my google skills out on this one. I see there are several people selling a reproduction wheel that appears to com...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
Thanks for the posts gents.
I'm going to spend some quality time working on it this weekend. I can see the finish line, but there are still quite a few things to do.

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
It's been a bit slow going, but I'm off the jackstands. I got the upper shock mounts made and installed, the driveshaft hooked up, and the exhaust system put together. I need make a couple of angle iron brackets for the brake lines, rig up the Crown Vic parking brake to work with the original pull c...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
I got the rear axle assembled, painted and hooked up the 4-link to set the front/back position. http://www.slick60s.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=921&image_id=12619 Still quite a ways to go, but it's nice to take a step back and look at the difference so far. http://www.slick60s.com/gallery/ima...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
It's been about a week since my last update. I got the steering column painted. http://www.slick60s.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=921&image_id=12617 And I've made some progress on the rear end. I boxed and notched the frame. http://www.slick60s.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=921&image_id=12...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
The Classic Instruments gauge showed up this week. I love the way it looks in the dash cluster I picked up off eBay. http://www.slick60s.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=921&image_id=12615 And my aerosol can of Marlin Blue from Paintscratch.com came last night. The top has a coat of Rustoleum Crys...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
I had to stop to eat some lunch, so I thought I would post a couple of updates. I picked up a set of 3 point seatbelts from Wesco. Not a perfect match, but pretty close. This is the original factory seat. I had kicked around the idea of making it a Ranger clone, but I wanted factory original blue mu...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
I got the housing welded and did a test fit on the Moser mustang axle shaft. Everything appears to fit. With the help of RustNdust65, I removed the bed to make it easier to remove the old brackets. I figured I'd clean up and paint the frame while I was at it. After a few hours with a wire wheel, sel...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
Thanks guys. I have a pretty awesome wife. Her family has always had old cars/projects, so she thinks it's normal. I got the Moser 31 spline 99-04 Mustang axle shaft in the mail. After taking some measurements, I came up with a measurement of 3 5/8" to shorten the Crown Vic Housing. http://www....

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
Slight change to the rear end plan. Turns out the Explorer axle shafts have a larger diameter at the end, which requires a larger seal and bearing, and it won't work by simply shortening the Crown Vic housing. I found a moser 31 spline 99-04 Mustang axle shaft for around the same price. It's on the ...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
Not a great photo, as it was pretty late, but this is the engine bay. If you notice, it's a recurring theme in my photos. I'm a night and weekender on the truck. http://www.slick60s.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=921&image_id=12534 I got the front end back together and the door/hood/fender gaps ...

Re: Ryanjay11's 65 F100 build
Thanks for the compliments! Great story and truck! I really like the colour you painted the engine block. Is it a rattle can paint? Nic The paint is Rustoleum engine enamel. It is a discontinued color called cast iron. http://www.slick60s.com/gallery/image.php?album_id=921&image_id=12533 I bough...
