Re: Need factory radio dimensions

Here are some tape measured dimensions with pictures of a factory slick radio. Ohhh! You meant an American radio, not the Canadian deluxe radio. Sorry I guess I cannot post pics on this site and I do not do online photo sharing. If you send me an email address I can send pics to you that way. 6.5 in...

Re: 1966 f100 with bronco instrument cluster

If your speedo is bouncing try pulling the cable out of the sheath and grease it. It worked on my first car a 1979 Grand Prix. That thing bounced a range of over 60 km/H!

It seems kind of rare that you have a custom cab with only single tone paint

Re: 65 Mercury 352

That definitely is a solid start. The oil filter suggests this is a truck 352 but you will need to look on the block for a C5 start to a casting number. Post a pic of the warranty plate on the door and that will help. Do you have any extra Mercury hubcaps around you need to sell to raise some money?...

Re: 65 Mercury 352

Great to see a fellow Canadian online! Pictures are always nice. I have primarily been around the 66 model year but there is a full resto of a 1965 M250 over on FTE by the thread name 1965 Mercury M250 build. I believe his engine block is black with gold valve covers.

Re: Parking light lenses.

I was going to reply that the 63 was clear and the 64 was amber, however I have a pic from twenty years ago that shows my 63 parts truck with amber. Maybe early 63 had clear and mid year it went amber. Possibility #2 is the fade factor. Was your clear lens once amber?

Re: Differences in inner fenders?

There is a massive difference between the C1 series and the C5 but cannot post pictures here as of yet. In description the C1 are curved from the top of the fender down to the frame with no hard creases. The C5 has hard bends near the fender and then angles straight down to the frame. Let me try a p...

Re: Lmc rear tank

Is there any reason why the mustang tank can't have the filler neck come out the back and then you fill behind the licence plate just like a car from the 70's?

Re: Canadian-built color codes

I have a few pics of warranty plates and all trucks were made in Canada and are single colour. It seems that 61-63 had a numeral in front of the double letters, but the 64-65 does not. The double letter usually represents the colours so RR means the whole body is Rangoon Red. If the truck was tu-ton...

Re: VIN stampings on framerail

I had a Canadian built '66 Mercury 20 years ago and I will swear up and down that the vin was stamped on the drivers side frame rail in front of the spring perch and behind the steering box. My current '66 Merc also made in Canada is on the passenger side once in front of the spring perch. I have no...

Re: Ranger Information

Just curious. I have always loved the Rangers, the first one I saw was ca. 1980 in Kelowna BC. I can't tell you if it was a Merc or a Ford.. my memory steers me to Merc but I just wouldn't bet my life on it. It did make quite an impression on me tho as when i found out it was built by the factory t...
