Re: Rods 63 UNI long bed ProStreet
Well we might have finally lost it. We have been discussing what kind of hood scoop might look good and this is what we came up with. It rises 1 1/2 inches at the back of the hood and slopes to nothing on the front of the hood. we didn't want a big scoop and we wanted to maintain the lines of the tr...

Re: Rods 63 UNI long bed ProStreet
Been making some more progress. Began fitting the front clip and bumper and door gaps. Had a bad radius mismatch at the bottom of the A pillar and the door on both sides. On the drivers side A pillar I had to cut a slot in the pillar on the door side to pull the pillar in to match the leading edge o...

That is almost a carbon copy of Rod's 63 long bed pro street build we are in the final stages of building. Should be a killer truck when finished. We will be watching your build and good luck.

Re: not the best way to land a F-111
Allen we did, in fact that was the first problem we were presented with. The over wing fairing was being pulled down to tight and it was breaking the lip seal flange causing us to have to replace the complete fairing. I don't remember what the final fix was but it sounds like, from what you say , it...

Re: not the best way to land a F-111
Allen. Cool video. I was the 4th USAF enlisted man to be ordered to the 1st squadron of F 111's in the Airforce at Nellis AFB Nevada. I went through 4 different special schools to prepare for its arrival in early 1968. It wound up in Thialand that same year. It is quite the airplane. Our commander w...

Re: Rods 63 UNI long bed ProStreet
Some more progress. We got the cab interior, dash and cowl primered. Makes a big difference. Going to go get the chassis from Rod's garage tomorrow and put the body and chassis together for the last time. Then do our final fit and fair getting ready for paint very soon. http://i214.photobucket.com/a...

Re: Rods 63 UNI long bed ProStreet
BiffWilley Thanks for the comments. We made a bit more progress today. Finished up the passenger side door jam and got some primer on and it looks pretty good I think. http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc195/3Oldtrucks/Rods%20Pro%20Street%20UNI%20Build/DSCN0720.jpg http://i214.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Shop Heat
66fordtrucknut A mobile home furnace or something equal is probably what I will wind up with but for now this burner is a viable alternative. It is drip feed hence the tank above it. My shop is 30 X 36 so it's not that much bigger than yours so a furnace from a large double wide should work ok. I wo...

Re: Shop Heat
bmcgc Haven't heard of anything like that around here. ICE. I'm about to become 70. I have done all the wood cutting I want to do. If we had natural gas available I would install a gas furnace. The problem with log truck loads of wood is the mess produced. It's bad enough buying wood by the pickup (...

Re: Shop Heat
I'm still in the experimenting stage learning how to adjust things like drip rate, how fast to run the fan, where to position the intake tube. Things like that. It doesn't burn perfectly clean but there isn't a lot of smoke either and hardly any smell so I think I am on the right track. Once I get a...

Shop Heat
I have been heating the shop with wood for a long time and we experimented with a waste oil drip system a couple of years ago without a good out come. I have since discovered a better way to do it and so far it is working good. http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc195/3Oldtrucks/Waste%20Oil%20Burner...

Re: Rods 63 UNI long bed ProStreet
Brownie62 The firewall is bonded on. Rob removed all the ribbing so we would have a flat surface to bond to. I made a template to transfer to the metal. I left the edge of the metal back from the radius of the tunnel so I could smooth the radius to a nice transition. We used a 2 part epoxy product t...
