Re: Hello ya ol' greasy greasers!

Glad to hear from you Max! And glad you still have the 64!! I don't stop to think how lucky I am to have nice truck-working weather for the most part. I need to get better scheduling tho, have some things that need be epoxy primed, but it is staying below 40 degrees. I'll catch a day soon. Keep us u...

Re: Hexenschuss

Still eating this elephant with a teaspoon. Worked a lot of overtime last week so not much accomplished until yesterday. Finally ground all of the welds and got the tag light bracket welded into place. Acid washed it and got a coat of POR 15 on. Took a few days off after Christmas so should be able ...

That makes me the Winner

Husband to wife: "If I won the lottery, what would you do?"

Wife: "Take half of the money and leave you."

Husband: "Ok, I won $12 today. Here's your $6 and don't stay in touch!"

Re: Hexenschuss

Not really any huge strides on the bed repairs but making small steps mostly every evening. Most of the holes/severely damaged places have been made whole, just need to grind the welds and see how all of it looks. The tag light bracket was completely missing but I remembered back when I was working ...

Re: Hexenschuss

What's that saying, "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry"? I experienced it again last week. The day after my "pledge" to get the rear panel finished last week, a couple friends came by the shop just as I started welding the first patch in. We shot the breeze for aw...

Re: Hexenschuss

Wow, time flies doesn't it?? The lower front corner/stake pockets have been replaced with new metal which allowed these areas to be welded to the replacement front crossmember. This set the heights of everything else in the bed. The wheel wells are welded back to the bed framing but I dropped the fr...

Re: wind blowing in kansas

Thankfully no snow out here, been dry though. Lots of farmers sprayed their beans to kill them because there weren't any beans to pick. I'm glad you're keeping a positive outlook about your ignition upgrade! I had an uncle that wore out a couple pacemakers. The last one he had was a defib/pacemaker ...

Re: Cob Webs . . . Tumbleweeds

I've been terribly slack in posting for the last year. I do hate that whatever happened with the photo posting happened but I still need to keep up. I do miss all the activity that used to be on here and I am not a facebooker. There is some good stuff on there but so much of it is not and I don't ne...

Re: Ranger Fender Emblem Inserts

I had a friend that runs a sign shop cut the chrome Ranger script and surround from vinyl. I cut four pieces of very thin Lexan the shape of the insert, sprayed two of them black (My original inserts were black not red) applied the vinyl to the black piece. Put the clear piece on top of that and rei...

Re: Hexenschuss

Well the wheel tubs have been widened, still need a little touch-up welding and grinding. Got a "frame" made that consists of the front crossmember and the two center ones with 1 1/2" angle in between them all. Looks like a ladder. The tubs will get spot welded to the vertical section...

Late happy birthday wishes!! I've made apple pies in a cast iron skillet but never heard of doing brownies. Sounds like I have a project for a cold winter day. Been picking up the last few persimmons from my momma's old tree. It was really loaded this year, put up 7 quarts so far, had to shar...

Yep, it finally caught up with me last week. I can reply but if I try to attach photos it kills the post.
Guess we'll just have to use our imaginations :(

That is a very sad thing to go through April. It definitely tears your heart out. I'm glad you got some pictures with him and the truck(s). I sure cherish the ones I have of our last two dogs in my truck. Hope you have a safe deployment and get home soon to see your other pups!

Re: Hexenschuss

Been putting miles on the truck, just went up to the mountains yesterday for a car show, about 100 miles each way. Stayed on backroads all the way and it was a blast. My friend with the 64 Fairlane followed along. I finally drug the bed out of storage last weekend and have been formulating the plan ...
