Re: Replaced fuel tank now having a weird issue
Took some time to work on it after I got off work today. Put the old carb back on and no flooding issues, just the same old carb idle issues. So that confirmed it must be a stuck float on the new carb. Pulled the top off the new carb and it had a little crud. Cleaned it up good and the needle seemed...

Re: New member, planning to start 63 Unibody, 2001 P71 CV sw
Nice! Are you planning to put the f100 body on the Crown Vic frame? Or keep the f100 frame and swap the Crown Vic running gear, rear end, and front suspension over? I've seen it done both ways.

Re: Replaced fuel tank now having a weird issue
If the fuel pump worked before the tank installation I would rule that problem out I would bet you stirred something up I think you're on the right path thinking its A needle in seat problem ... Yeah, I hate to pull the carb again but that is the most likely issue. Luckily I do have a spare, known ...

Replaced fuel tank now having a weird issue
Just installed a new fuel tank in my '63. Previous to this I was using a 5 gallon plastic gas can strapped in the bed ( I did not drive it on the road like that) to get the truck running and tuned. It was running really well before the new tank went in. Carb and fuel pump were both installed a littl...

Master cylinder pushrod length
I have a stock single pot master cylinder on my '63 and i'm pretty sure my pushrod is too long. Even if I adjust the pushrod eccentric all the way out I still have to compress the piston about an half an inch to bolt it up. The one that came with the truck is 5 3/4 overall length, or 5 5/16 from the...

Re: Truck stumble, coil voltage issue?
Yeah, the bypass was just for testing i'm not going to leave it like that. But one thing i'm confused on still is I keep reading that the early 60's f100s used a resistor wire and not a ballast resistor to reduce coil voltage. If that is true, why do I have a ballast resistor in the first place?

Re: Truck stumble, coil voltage issue?
Just did a quick test. On my coil bracket there is a piece that the hot wire goes into and out to the + on the coil, I believe it is called a ballast resistor. But if I bypass it and check the voltage at the coil it's 12.4 volts. I started it up like that and it will take throttle now with no stumbl...

Re: Truck stumble, coil voltage issue?
Stumble , when you give it the pedal Is very possible the accelerator pump not working I have a truck like that... runs fine ... give it gas & it wants to die a bit Does yours start without choking it ? If not... I would check the accelerator pump... Very easy to do Without it running.... Look ...

Truck stumble, coil voltage issue?
My 223 has been idling fine, but stumbling pretty bad when I give it gas. I'm pretty confident it is not fuel related, but a low spark voltage situation. Yesterday I measured the voltage at the coil while idling and it was around 2.2 volts. I'm pretty sure that is a problem. What should I be seeing ...

Re: caribbean turquoise f100 what color seat cover
After owning a Mercury Zephyr (Fox Body) that was a pale yellow (similar to butternut yellow) with a similar colour interior, and remembering how much time I spent keeping those seats clean, WHITE would be the last colour I would choose........ See samples in link below, but I think the one I've in...

caribbean turquoise f100 what color seat cover
My f100 is caribbean turquoise and the factory seat covering was black on the bottom and the back was black with a woven insert. I live in the South and a black vinyl seat is not a good idea. So what do you guys think would look good and not toast my rear? I'm thinking maybe white? My steering wheel...

Re: Stuck brakes after winter storage
I pulled the boot back where the pedal rod goes into the MC and fluid poured out. Guess the MC is toast. Sad, it was less than a year old. Maybe a good excuse to upgrade to a dual chamber.

Stuck brakes after winter storage
Early last year I completely went through the brake system. New master cylinder, new lines, new wheel cylinders, pads, etc. The brakes were working great. But sadly over the winter aside from starting it up every couple weeks it just sat in the garage. Went to pull it out of the garage yesterday and...

Re: My 63 Unibody
I've got a nice box of goodies sitting here from Summit Racing, brake drums, shoes, updated hardware, wheel cylinders, etc. I'd like to get the wider rear brakes installed but mother nature still isn't cooperating. Raining again tonight and tomorrow. :( Hopefully get something done this weekend. Di...

Re: Upcoming News out of Arclight Fab
I get the impression that the kit is intended as a turn-key, mostly bolt-in solution, which would definitely appeal to those with limited experience. They were apparently able to do the full install of the suspension kit and 302/T5 combo in a '64 at the Dallas Autorama over a weekend, so I'm sure t...

Re: Upcoming News out of Arclight Fab
Until there are some people installing the kit and reviewing it I don't see myself spending that much. I'm very curious if their steering geometry fix actually makes the truck enjoyable to drive with no power steering and a dropped axle.
