Re: 64 f100 spindle Vs f250 spindle- f250 ford caliper brack
F100 Vs F250 spindles - they are the same... Mounting plate, I personally prefer 3/8" plate, I will tow, and haul more than I should. I want the failure to be on a part I didn't make. Some of those kits you spoke of, use 1/4" plate and only 3 of the four possible mount points on the spind...

Re: 64 f100 spindle Vs f250 spindle- f250 ford caliper brack
I have not done it, but have been told that you can swap the spindles from the dentsides (73-79) onto your straight axle. You'd have to make sure the kingpins were the same diameter, and may need some spacers. Hopefully someone on here has done this and will speak up. Ya that would make things simp...

Re: 64 f100 spindle Vs f250 spindle- f250 ford caliper brack
Also what kind of steel should I use to make the brackets out of? I have access to a machine shop as I got to a vo-tech school sort of thing in the mornings so I have acess to lathes, mills ,and a CNC mill and lathe once I learn the programming.

64 f100 spindle Vs f250 spindle- f250 ford caliper brackets
Hey guys, I'm wanting to know what if any differences there are between the '64 f100 and f250 straight axle spindles. I'm wanting to do the disk brake conversion that FarmMotorSports did. and yes I'm fully aware that the kits would be much simpler but by doing it like farmmotorsports did I use all f...

I've looked at napa's site, o'reilly's, and autozone...napa is the only one that carried any thermostats but I haven't seen any fail safes. Do they exist? dads going to be a bit disappointed...he has always ran fail safes...swears by them.

anyway around PhotoBucket "3rd party hosting to see pics"?
I noticed this evening all of my build thread pics are not visible and when I went to fix the issue in my photobucket account settings, I couldn't find it and a quick search online I found other car sites saying Photobucket now wants you to Pay a fee for 3rd party hosting. Is that true> What are you...

Re: Needing a y block rocker arm oil drip ear/spacer
o Ill have to remeasure my pushrods, but the self locking adjusters came out of my 575XXXXXX part number rocker arms, and are shorter than the non locking ones, and the non locking work fine, how ever I may be able to get the self locking to work if I remove the spacers. But I doubt it...but I know ...

Re: Needing a y block rocker arm oil drip ear/spacer
Don't worry too much about finding them. They are not a necessity. They were phased out early in Y development, and your '64 actually would not have had them. Performance wise, they can be a benefit because they tend to improve rocker geometry but that gets tricky because they also affect the rocke...

Needing a y block rocker arm oil drip ear/spacer
Hey all, I'm a bit over half way there on my y block, All I need is odd and end parts: fail safe thermostat, belts, points, spark plug wires, and a few other small parts. but I thought I had found a full set of rocker arm oil drip ears/spacers when I was collecting parts for reassembling my rocker a...

Re: F250 Straight Axel disk brakes
hey , I was wondering what you used as a caliper bracket, I think I saw what you used , but i'm just being sure, what all are the differences? any pics.. dads got a suspicion that the f250 spindles are near identical to the f100 spindles...if they are then that would mean that i can get a 5 lug roto...

Have you asked over on yblocksforever.com; or yblocks on Facebook? No ,but through my searching through my storage buildings, I found one with the right Id, but a little big on the outside, im thinking neither of my 292s had the right one...even though the one I got was oit of a 64 f100, and was re...

Re: F250 Straight Axel disk brakes
See...WTH don't the f100 kits use ford calipers :cussing: ...really bugs me..Ill do it eventually..and NO backing plates...not trying to hi-jack the thread though  Nice job looks good When talking about off-the-shelf conversion kits, the reason is the way the caliper mounts. The GM calipers bo...

Re: 292 y block harmonic balancer washer...
Y-Blocks use a 9/16" bolt, which is pretty uncommon for the damper. The kit at oreilly or any other parts store will not have it - that is an error based on the ignorance of the parts guy. The washer is pretty thick. I can measure one tomorrow. A stack of washers might work. It would also be e...

Re: My New custom cab cluster and 'stock look tach"
Hey folks, its Andrew. OrangeRcode brought me over here. I don't have any tachs or vacuum gauges, but I do know someone that does and can get you in touch with him if you'd like. If you are looking for gauge overlays, I make those too, custom or OEM. I've made them for several vehicles and can make...
