Dearborn Steel/Thunderbolt

Not slick related, but since Dearborn Steel built the original F100 XL I thought some would find this of interest to some.

Re: D1500 rotors / stock ford rims

Not to butt in, but "outies" are the wheels with the knobs on the outside of the center ring (66 and later trucks), it's the "innies" that the dog dish caps fit. Little nubs on the inside to hold the caps.

Re: Nice looking Ranger or is it ? on Evil Bay

Appears to be a "real Ranger" from the info posted and without the benefit of seeing the Warranty Tag. Like Tom I see a few things that would diminish the value for me from a true "restoration": Dual exhaust, wheel covers (66), bed rails etc. Can't tell if there's a tank cover or...

Re: My yearly rant

Well, I due to Skip's "yearly rant" and my new doctor, I had my first every colonoscopy today at the ripe old age of 71. Lucky for me, everything checked out OK and not even any polyps. The "prep" wasn't as bad as I had expected and I slept through the actual procedure so that wa...

BWF: Sorry for your loss. Elegant statement to your dad. I miss mine most when I have a problem to solve. He was uneducated as to "book learning" but was a master diesel mechanic and a great machinist. He worked on Catipillar earth moving equipment and later Mach trucks. I was so envious o...

Re: Fresh y-block/3speed manual combo value?

Did you build it yourself or have it professionally done (or have someone else do it). I'd think a list of the parts used would be helpful to a potential buyer.

New DD - Not a Slick, but...

Here are photos of my "new" to me DD. I bought my 04 F150 Super Cab five years ago, with 114,000 miles on it and it has performed almost flawlessly in that time. Best automobile purchase I've ever made. Had a chance to grab this one, 02 Ford F350 Super Duty Crew Cab with the 7.3 Turbo Dies...

Re: Tumbleweeds' Tailgate

Not factory. Looks like a nice job though. Guess it could have been made by one of the bumper manufacturers who supplied them to the dealers (seems to have been regional).

I'll put this one on the list if the 66 deal does not work out

In listing: Condition: RESTORED

????? Apparently RESTORED doesn't mean what he thinks it means. But maybe I just wasn't aware you could get a 428 in a 66 F-100.

Re: Tomorrow @ Mecum Lot G100 1964 Ford F100 Short Bed Picku

Not restored -- refurbished maybe. Wrong mirrors, wrong steering wheel, wrong engine color, three-speed in the floor (not original), etc., etc. etc. Pretty truck at first glance, but why not go the extra two inches and do it right?
