Re: Ranger Secrets
That's pretty cool, they wanted to make sure that the assembly line knew that truck was destined to be a Ranger. It was both inside and out.

Re: Single Speed Wiper Switch Interchange
Chris, the electric wiper switch had two versions between 64 and 66. One versions of the four terminal switch for the two speed electric wiper motor and a seven terminal switch for the two speed motor. Depends on the serial number. Before serial number 760001 two switch versions marked C3TB-17A552-E...

Re: New Guy From Texas
Welcome Kris, where from Texas are you? I live in Smithville. We could be neighbors. I'm actually in Austin (Oak Hill). My mom and brother live in Bastrop, so I know where you are. My sister-in-law works at the Roadhouse on 21, so we are out that way a bunch. Great, I need another truck ally in the...

Re: How Long Was Slick Era Cab Used? 1969 F8000
It looks like a pretty solid old truck but 25 thou is a bit high for it. I paid 2500 for my N and even after a total restoration I still have a lot less than he is asking for that truck. I am pretty sure at least 2 years, the same cab style was used on big trucks, 3 or 4 is very likely... I know thi...

Re: Dakota,, RIP
I truly feel for you Tom. I know it hadn't been easy on either of you. You can take her on home now and let her rest. One of my poodles had cancer and I was away from home and I returned home on Friday. She would always meet me at the door when I got home but didn't this Friday. Alan said she was la...

Re: How Long Was Slick Era Cab Used? 1969 F8000
The slick cab was used on the F and T-800 and larger trucks and lasted to 69 and as said above replaced by the L and LT models. The N and NT series 500 and up lasted until 69 as well and was replaced by the LN and LNT series. The bigger trucks retained the step well in the cab and never got the slop...

I bought a new set just a couple of years ago at the local mom and pop parts store here in my hometown. You shouldn't have any problem finding them.

Interior Paint
I am finally getting ready to make the tranny swap from the New Process to the C6 in my 65. I have just about all the parts if not all the parts rounded up to make the swap. The one thing I am having problems with it finding the correct semi gloss red paint to paint the steering column with. When I ...

Re: A Missed Opportunity
I am not sure of the scale but it would be pretty close. I am sure it would long enough to work on a short bed. You can always chop off the rear of the panel if it is to long. You would have to chop it off any way because of the tail lights on the Mercury.

A Missed Opportunity
Ford missed a great opportunity to build a truly unique truck. I did a crude photo shop of a 1957 Mercury upper quarter panel mated into the side of my 65. It would not have been a costly mod either. All they would have had to do was the attach it at the seam just above the lower bed panel. The rest...

Re: Getting work done
I never was over any recruits but I had a lot of guys that worked for me over the years. For the most part they stayed out of trouble. I did have to counsel one every now and then and tell a few to get a haircut from time to time.
