trade mechanical tach for electric tach
I have an electric 4000 rpm tach that I had converted about five years ago. It worked perfectly with my gas engine. It does not work well with my diesel. I am running it with a Dakota digital box. I would like to trade for a mechanical tach in good shape. Tach is in this video https://m.youtube.com/...

Re: 1966 F250 Cummins gauges
Tach is right at idle.
Should I adjust Dakota digital box til it is right at 2000 rpms and not worry about idle

Tach is electric from gas engine.FarmMotorSports wrote:Which tach are you using, and how is it driven? The originals are cable driven, didn't like the idea of using a factory drive off the front of the cam...
Driven by a Dakota digital drive.
Is there a better way to drive it?

Re: First drive after diesel conversion
Right now the gearbox dose not make noise over the engine.
Neither does the radio or cell phone.
I have the carpet and transmission cover off and a two foot exhaust pipe from the engine
