The price of gas just dropped to $2.09 here and will probably go lower.
I guess all you guys that boycotted EXXON/ Mobil got results, huh?
Thanks.

FE motors
352 heads are fine, but have hardened valve seats put in when you do the valve job. When you look for a cam, go to someone like Jegs and get a 390 RV style cam and keep it under 285 degrees with a max of 1/2" lift. Headers are a must, but they have to be specifically for a Ford truck. Car heade...

I have the part number for the correct drag link and will post it for you sometime tomorrow. They are still available from several sources. There is an early chevelle box that can be used, but I'm still working on the layout. Key is the ability to move the pittman arm to the same position as the ori...

'63 truck available
Max here in Houston has a really nice '63 available for the same price if you can get in touch with him.
Make him put it back together before you buy it though
It's a 223 six cylinder and was driving before he started changing things around. Solid old truck with nice body for a project.

See if you can get in touch with Texas Monty. He lives in Austin and can help you along. Good guy and he's in the process of a similar truck so you guys could help each other out. If you'll send me an e-mail I'll be happy to forward it to him if he doesn't see this message. There are good trucks out...

Wobble???
Gene. Does it continue to wobble the faster you go and does it get progressively worse? Jack up the front end and check the wheel bearings to make sure you don't have one coming lose and check the lug nuts too. I'd take a look at the drag link also. If you have disk brakes, put your foot on the peda...

Disk brakes guys, disk brakes, disk brakes, disk brakes. Its an easy mod and cheap considering you will ruin someone's rice burner one of these days if you don't. Your trucks probably have the original brake fluid in them and its the kind that absorbs moisture. Your ole rubber lines have swollen shu...

I'm rolling on the floor. I am absolutely certain that Lyman represented us just fine. I know I speak for all of us when I say I wish we could have made the journey. I do know that Kansas City is a do-able thing for most of us so maybe if we're still alive and kicking in '08 you'll see some Texans u...

Iceman is correct. The power valve should be approximately 1/2 of the vaccuum at idle. To big a power valve will result in a rich condition. Also note that there are at least two different sizes of accelerator pumps, a 30cc and a larger 50cc unit. I went to the smaller pump on my center carb and the...

I finally figured it all out. My mailbox is being flooded with mail concerning gas prices and illegal immigrants. To boycott oil companies or not; to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants or not, etc. Since I have become disgusted in total to the various solutions proposed by the Republicans, Democr...

rear disk brakes??
Mike.
I doubt they will fit your 3/4 ton axels, and besides, rear disks just add drag and rob horsepressure; unless you're roadracing, they're a waste of time on a Slick.

Slickstock in Houston??
On the off chance that it ever happens, please be advised that the rules of the road are different down here. There is no such thing as a dangerous high-speed chase in Houston. Everybody, except Chinese immigrants, drives like that. The morning rush hour is from 6 to 10. The evening rush hour is fro...
