Re: Carpeting for a '65??
I bought a nice carpet from stock interiors a while back and it covered the area under the seat. It would have covered the area where the tank is as well, if I had removed the tank. I had a carpet guy remove the excess at the rear and sew a bias there and at the top (firewall end). Looks nice and is...

Re: not sure what to make of this uni
Patches on the bed and cab indicate RUST on the torque box and likely in the floors as well. Key word here is "Rare", another clueless seller that when you explain the truth he will think your trying to screw him. I'd leave it be for a few months and contact him again, if he still has it o...

Thanks Skip! I got mine, couple of polyps and I'm good for another 5 years. Had a dear friend that lost his battle with colon cancer, damn shame. Listen up people Skip speaks the truth.

Safety pins should have 0 wear. Replace the ragjoint. Check steering box bolts. IMHO!

Re: '66 F100 rear bumper
You should be able to sandblast off the chrome and then powder coat to the color of your choice. I don't know about the aftermarket rears but the front bumpers are thin and do not fit well. IMHO. I'd look for a decent used rear OEM and blast it clean and powder coat.

Re: She won't go into reverse
Save your money and do not buy new hood hinges . I have a set of the new hinges you can have for the ride. They are flimsy and basically not worth the effort needed to install them. I cleaned up my old bent ones and they work better than the "new" replacements. So like I said shoot me a PM...

Re: turn signal lever problem
All true. Pulling the steering is the challenge. You will need a steering wheel puller. Buy a new switch and have it ready in case you cannot fix the old one. Honestly I'd simply plan on replacing the old switch with new. Also buy a new horn brush and replace it also. Dielectric grease on all moving...

Re: turn signal wiring HELP
The blue wire grounds the horn relay and the relay powers the horn. The blue wire will connect to the horn relay having traveled from the horn button to the relay up by the battery box.

Re: Neutral safety switch location in a 66
The NSS on the transmission will also have a set of wires to activate a backup light. You will need an ignition hot feed and an extra wire out to whatever light you decide to use for backup.

Re: Neutral safety switch location in a 66
Like BP described. Look closely at the column you plan to use. If you are using an aftermarket column or a later Ford tilt you will need to modify the column and shift tube too accept the column mounted switch and actuating lever. I have done this and it is a pita. I like having the switch in the tr...

Re: any good way to get a straight axle with auto column
Auto columns are fairly uncommon. I'd post a want to buy here and see what shows up. Or, just jerry rig it and move on. IMHO!

Re: any good way to get a straight axle with auto column
Just hook the second/third shift lever to the trans. You will not have a indicator or a neutral safety switch but this would avoid a hole in the floor and get you on the road. IMHO!

Re: 1965 F100 I've been working on.
On the gas pedal, I use a cable setup from LoKar and the hanging 66 style pedal. The top of the pedal arm has a ball setup that needs to be removed. Drill a small hole in the firewall and connect up the cable. Duct tape will seal the original hole till you get to it. I have used these setups for yea...

Re: 63 F100 CV Swap Steering Help
You will need a support bearing at the bottom of the column after you remove the gear box and saw off the shaft. I saw a setup for that recently in one of the truck magazines but I cannot remember where. You could use a 65-66 column (they have the lower support bearing) and your wheel would fit the ...

MeZapU! Beauty truck. Shocker998md, I use 7 inch smoothies on my white truck. They work well but with fat tires you will need power steering. I used some late Bronco 7 inch wheels on the red truck that are very similiar to the ones MeZapU has on his truck. Again power steering on both trucks. IMHO!

Re: Which axle bushing set
Some aftermarket Axle pivot bushings require you to reuse the outer shell from stock. This is difficult because the shells are usually destroyed during removal. Aftermarket urethane bushings often require a press to install them in the axle. A vice can work for this job as will simple C-clamps. I wo...
