Re: Needed: Pics of pages from '61 Ford of Canada Shop Manua
I have that. This is the first page from my other thread, but it looks like I didn't take any photos of the following pages. I'll add some when I get a chance. There are definitely some differences between '61 and '62/63. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e131/greenda/Ford%20and%20Mercury%20Truck%20...

Re: VIN stampings on framerail
http://www.slick60s.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=35021 might ask these guys :2cents: Danny Thanks, but I'm no guru. Just someone adept at reading instructions, lol. So that one I actually don't know. I would have to check my shop manuals (61 and 62-63) to see if it actually specifies a location, and...

Re: '65 canadian-built special-order codes
Very good. :) Do they refer to the first digit as "number of cylinders" in the '65 literature? Just reviewing my own info and it seems they jumped around between calling it "model description" and "make code" depending on the year, and also seem to interchange "mod...

Re: '65 canadian-built special-order codes
I don't have any info on the '65 and later trucks, but with the help of jamesdfo I was able to compile some info on Canadian-built 61-64 trucks if that's of any help:

Re: Crown Vic Frame Swap Debate
There are a few frame swap projects on the go here that use the newer-style CV, but here's a couple that come to mind in case you hadn't seen them. 390fastback did a nice job incorporating the CV cluster into the original dash: http://www.slick60s.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=28780 As for the bump i...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
okay- i have been talking with my buddy Greg and my Dad and we all brainstormed the idea of interior being red, with the opposite of the original paint scheme. Originally it looked like this- http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/a489/CoastieReid/Shipwrecked/IMG_0318_zpsb76e1711.jpg I am considering ...

Re: building a temporary paint booth
While working on our bathroom reno I came across a product at Home Depot that worked great for making a door in plastic sheeting. It's a zipper with an adhesive strip that you attach to the plastic, then you simply open the zipper and cut down the middle to make your opening. Unfortunately I don't r...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Just looking at the photo of the stick, is it possible that the paint will dry darker? I like the red against the charcoal grey myself, without any inserts in the hubcaps. Although the two-tone you drew up previously would look very much like a scheme you might see on an earlier F-1 pickup where the...

Re: 65 Stepside "Dust N Rust"
The Twin I, as orangeRcode mentioned, indicates 65-66. As do the cab mounts and inner fenders.
Great story! At least it has personality. And for future reference you want the cheap non-clumping kitty litter, not the pricey stuff.

Welcome from Alberta, where we hoard all the Mercs. Great looking project!
I think you mean reference. Sounds much less heinous.LM14 wrote:Keep us posted and be sure to start a build thread. We all like to steal ideas!

Re: The Tragically Hip
I was a late adopter of CD's so the last cassette I ever purchased was The Hip's Phantom Power.
I have fond memories of seeing them live in "The Paris of the Prairies" so I haven't quite psyched myself up to watch the final concert. I did record it though.

Re: The Blue Truck Saga
I've never seen the lower cowl section repopped anywhere either, though I haven't looked in several years. You're not alone though, the welder that fixed the floor on my '62 went as far as my budget allowed at the time so the same section on mine is still mildly ventilated.

A very bright green with a roll cage of sorts? Not unlike this, IIRC:

I've got a spare set of manifolds that are still attached, I'd have to take a look to see if there's evidence of a gasket or not.
