Yep, We are getting hit hard and we had it fixed so an Admin has to actually accept or deny a person wanting to join. For the most part the spammers are pretty easy to spot but some of them are not as easy. We spend quite a bit of time each Day working on this..................Kid

We all appreciate your time and effort it takes to keep this site going , I get nervous when the site goes down. This is my life line for information and questions about my trucks.

How does one become a spammer? I've thought about that line of work before. Seems fun at times.

I'd say that's a skill that's honed through continual and repetitive practice...

I for one am really glad I was accepted. This website is a wealth of information about this series of truck and I've learned alot just by reading others posts, not to metion all the FREE advice I get when I'm stumped (which is quite common for me). Keep up the good work ......you are truly appreciated. Jeff

I am getting a request to join about every three hours, they just keep pounding away, we try to guess from the name , but I am sure we miss a few real slicksters.. I did see IMFATDAD pop up, I am pretty sure that is a past member?

I`m sorry but I`m fairly sceptical about a new member, that has posted in Members only!, maybe I`m just old and crabby

reason I joined:

I'm a NUT :?

work my tail off getting it, restoring it

give myself the big "C" doing it

after spending $1000's and 1000's of dollars doing it

now I'm selling it!

Please keep this all in mind when I come back to join again!

its just a bad deal we even have to screen people, but with evil doers, :P and machines that never stop trying to get in.. the spammers get overwhelming sometimes.
I did hear that Google uses spambots that join sites to find and record your data so they will find you in a Google search ...

I don't know how I ever did restoration/modification before the web and forums. Every vehicle I restify leads me to join at least one forum. I've been on Oldsmobile, Chebby Truck, AMC, Ford Truck, Racing, H.A.M.B., and Welding forums and was gleaned TONS of good info from all.

A great example is the Saturn windo motor modification. I would have NEVER learned about it without this forum. I really appreciate the efforts to keep these forums running, including the effort to keep the spammers out.

Didn't know these forums existed until I bought my truck 2 years ago. Learned alot reading the posts and threads. I really appreciate the knowledge of others with the restoration of the truck. Also made friends with others in the area with Slicks.

Things like this don't just happen. Thank you to those who keep it up and running.

Yes, thank you for maintaining a great informative site. Reconditioning my grandpa's truck was both easier and more enjoyable with this resource and group of characters at my fingertips. Thanks again.
