So I know where the bearings go when replacing the king pins but my question is if there is a 'top' vs 'bottom' to the bearing. In other words, which side goes up - the machined surface or the outer 'cup' surface??
I'm thinking that the machined bearing surface goes down (sits on the spindle) and the outer cup surface goes up for the axle to sit on that??
Thoughts?? Comments appreciated!
Thanks

Alot of times, yes, there is a top and a bottom.. (although I've never got a close look a one for a slick)
On heavy trucks, the bearing has a seal on it. If installed wrong grease cannot get into the bearing.. In other words the seal needs to be away from the spindle..
