Yep, that was the bid, on a new dash bezel. Still wondering if the guy coffed up that much for it or it was some kind of jerk messing with the seller. Inquiring minds want to know.

Was it chromed? If newly chromed, I can see it. But that's still pretty high.

Well here is a thought...

He sold it to himself. You could create a few 10-15 eBay names and bid up each others stuff (all belonging to you.) and then you would have 10-15 people that would have perfect feedback.

some peoples kids...

Nuts is the right word but I don't see any evidence of shill bidding. Hawkrod

Guess all Slick owners aren't Frugal.. Roddoors stand corrected LOL

I have seen that winning bidder pay nutty prices for other things too. He just has a lot of money, apparently. :?

I looked at the profiles,, all 3 involved have done business with same people :?: The 2 bidders have bought dodge pickup parts, the 1 bidder bought a radio for 61/66 but the one that won this bid has bought several items for 61/66 trucks that might little too much but it depends what he was bidding against so who knows :?: , But anybody bought this is off his rocker Very possible that the 2 or 3 of them was trying to get somebody on a fish line since they figured somebody would bite on it like mad max says look at some of the items each bought & even bidded against each other Could be a start of a new way to E-Bay sacm people :?: if so just because they have a good feedback read about the parts they bought & who they bidded against to see any connection... If I am going out on the limb please tell me that I should not suspect any hanky panky here

Yup, I think you are going out on a limb. I looked at what they bought as well as what they bid on but did not win. They have two common seller feedbacks and they both have paid too much for stuff especially saleh7620 who has paid a lot for any of the F100 parts he has purchased. The two bidders and the seller have no obvious connection and the stuff that the two bidders bought that was Dodge stuff, except for one item, was not cross bid that I can see. The two are both buying Dodge and Ford parts but the Dodge parts seem to be radically different as one is buying older ram stuff and the other is buying newer sweptside stuff. If the fact that two people bid on the same type of stuff was grounds for shill bidding then a lot of people here would be in trouble! How many times has somebody here bid against imalooker? I have both bid against them (won and lost) and I have sold to them, does this mean that its a shill? No, in fact it is simply the fact that we are playing in a very small pool and when good parts come up you will often see the same people fighting over them. Hawkrod

Well the winner also bought a NOS das pad from Wayne. He is spending way too much money, sounds like a high dollar build for a client that has a big check book.

The cross polination parts may also be coincidence, but it looks like from the past histories the parts are going to a builders.

The only one scammed were the two bidders as it appears they really wanted it.

I just looked at the invoice for my truck. He paid more for the item than my truck cost new in 66. I wonder if he wants to adopt a middle age, fat balding, "young" man ?

I'm surprised that someone else didn't post this before I did, considering the huge amount paid for the item.
Has anyone noticed, the drop in bid prices on a lot of the Ebay truck items, since gas took a jump?

I am consciously staying away from ebay right now Rich.

Need to get to the "Some assembly required" part of restoration now, seriously

What it boils down to is how bad does somebody want that certain part for their truck, We all have done it a time or two so its just hard to swallow paying that much for this piece But I do have a ?,,, How did the first bidder know to start out at a 1000.00 Oh well lets go on & I sure would like to see this truck that the buyer is building, It should be on of those trucks that will knock our socks off @ any given show
