Y Block -> T-5 Pictures

Post by unibodyboy »

Well I finally got around to installing the T-5 adatper (John Mummert's found at http://ford-y-block.com/truckt5.htm ) behind my Y-block. I remember some questions on the installation/performance from the last site, so feel free to bring up any questions. Just so you know, it is absolutely worth it. Performs like a champ.

Some modification is required. A new clutch disc must be used. The driveshaft front yoke must be changed to a T-5 or C4 style. You use your own existing pilot bearing, throw-out bearing, and pressure plate. The front driveshaft length will need to be changed also. I opted to convert to a one peice since the front driveshaft would have to be changed anyways.

The .68 overdrive in 5th is worth every penny, and it still performs on the lower end. I'm running a 3.73 spicer 44 in the rear.

Pictures can be found in my album at http://fordtruk.com/forums/album.php?user_id=214
