Ice door

Post by jeepbut »

The Ice door for the glove box is finished. Pictures can be seen on Facebook slick 60's site. Unless I am missing something, picture posting method on this site is outdated and a little bit silly compared to how the rest of the world does it. Thanks, Lyman.

Thank you Tomrooster. Alan, I will e-mail you the pictures. We have photobucket, the process to post pictures here as opposed to most places just seems archaic. Thanks, Lyman.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't have a clue what all is involved with maintaining a website like this but keep in mind that this site is still free and also free of advertisements........(I assume that more storage space for pics requires more $$)

Here's the story: It started at Slickstock 06 in York. There was a member whose board name was woodchuck with a 63 that had a coke machine coin return lever for a glove box knob. Since then I have been trying to come up with an unusual glove box door knob. The I C E sign had a tray on it when I bought it. I took the tray off and then cut a hole in the glove box door the size of the recessed finger pull of the I C E door. I made a small angle iron bracket to hold it in place from the backside. It is basically a glove box door knob idea that got completely out of hand. It looks really neat in person and you can get a much better idea of it by looking at all the pictures that are on the Slick 60's Facebook page. I will try to get my wife to help me post all the pictures here sometime this weekend. It was my wife's idea to paint the glove box door coke machine red to make the door and letters really stand out. The red on the letters and the glove box door is New Holland red from tractor supply. Thanks, Lyman.
