Unhappy news for an old member - Banjo Picker

Post by Uncle Skip »

A lot of you original members might remember Banjo Picker, aka John Sutton.
He is and has been a good friend of all of us for a full decade or more, but he needs your prayers now more than friendship. He has inoperable cancer and probably won't last until Christmas if that long.
His attitude is good because he believes in God, but a little encouragement to the Boss from all of us in his behalf can't hurt.
So, if your so inclined, help me out here. Say a little prayer for a good man. I appreciate it and if he knew, so would he.
God bless you John. You are loved and will be missed. I'll see you again on the other side.
Getting old really really sucks.
Thanks guys.

John is one of the best people i have ever met.

i am on his email list and have been getting regular updates since his diagnosis, and am praying for him and his family.

he has already outlived the time originally given to him, by the doctors.

and yes it does suck to get old but it happens to all of us.

a very long time ago John and i were bidding on the same e-bay slick parts
he won but could not follow thru so he worked it out so i got the parts and i invited him to join slick 60s

the rest is history

a bunch of years back he worked on computer security at army bases and that is the beginning of the banjo tours America where he went to alot of different places and visited and treated members to dinner

except me

my wife worked at the lodge where we went to dinner in Alaska when he came there
we arranged it beforehand so his money was no good there
he said we cheated, but we never let anyone buy for us there

i suppose in the encyclopedia under "real southern hospitality" there is probably a picture of John
if not there should be

I'm so sorry to hear of John's illness. He is a great guy! I met him several years ago at Kosko's Garagemahal. After that, we all enjoyed John's antics at SlickStock II in York, PA. Can anyone forget John dressed in his Confederate Officers Uniform for our cruise to Gettysburg? I sure can't!

John, if you're reading this - Our prayers and best wished are with you! Hang in there Buddy and stay strong. We all love you.
