Thought I'd share some pics of my latest project . Started with a 65 f100 with bad sheet metal, found some new in box hmmwv top kits with doors for cheap. scratch built the body to correct Humvee dimentions and bolted it to the ford frame.

Second pic is after the 4x4 conversion with 78/79 f250 dana 44 front and dana 60 rear axles. also added a np435 and a np205 set up so front and rear drive shafts are same length. Went with leaf springs and a Saginaw steering box from a mid 70's dodge.Probably the only slick Humvee in existance  One bonus of this build is a 65 f100 lwb has almost the same wheelbase as a Humvee.

That is so cool! Never thought that would work but glad it did.
Looks like you have a tilt frontend on it. Love the whole idea. TR

I welcome all comments good or bad. Being a lifelong slick fan I still miss the truck I took apart to build this Humvee, but another side of me really enjoys building odd things that not a lot of people are into. :D

I kept the stock 300 six. I may change to an FE at some point, but the straight sixes have never let me down.

This is really amazing, exactly what parts were you able to buy? and what parts were fabricated by you?

That's pretty cool! I guess that gets around the Humvees not legal to drive on the street rule.

Probably could fit a cmp cab on a slick frame. Looks like a e250 van would be a better donor. Are there plenty of ford cmp's left in your area ? The one you posted looks like a chevy made version.

Yeah sorry about the Chebby CMP, but it was a small pic that I chose it on....... and no there aren't many around here, there's an old guy with a nice restored one and a few rusted hulks, we have even less e250 vans ... actually none ! :D
