Well, on the one hand, it looks like a pretty clean truck.

On the other hand, if I'm buckin up close to $20K, I would expect the box to be the same colour as the rest of the truck.

Is that unreasonable??

And kids, here is one more example/reason to paint all your panels from the same bucket of paint on the same day...

I think what jamesdfo is referring to
Is the fact the bed is a deeper red than the cab.....
Possibly painted with a different batch of paint

For close to 20K$, I would prefer & expect the C6 automatic shifting lever to be done via an OEM column shift, not in a box on the floor taking up precious floor space & being in the way of my third passenger. I would also prefer standard steelies with SS caps over the mag-type wheels. Again, that's just my :2cents:

I like the wheels but I also like the stock ones with stainless caps, if you can find the stainless caps that is. I'm happy to say that I picked up several of these caps over the years. Two came from Ice, thank you Ice. Once set will go on my 64 when and if I get the motor taken out and the crank turned. Another round toit, that needs getting round to. The paint is obviously different in the picture. Painting is an exact science and the people that do quality show paint jobs are a rare breed. Using a different primer under the paint will cause the kind of difference you see in the picture, along with brand, quality, and number of coats. Other considerations are humidity in the air, number of coats of paint, temperature, and air pressure setting on the gun. I once talked to a guy that did the expensive paint jobs for show cars. He kept records of all these details on cars he worked on and recorded when it was done and all the particulars. This was so that he could duplicate the paint process exactly if and when repairs or repaint was needed on part of the car. Matching older paint is an art, sometimes not an easy thing to do. I talked to the guy some years past when paint was of a better quality and easier to shoot than the stuff we have now. Give me lacquer any day over this new stuff. You could do things with it that you can't with the new stuff, thanks to our governments policies. The paint lasted longer and protected better.
