Plan?
Drive it.
I may rub out the paint some.
Bit by bit shoot the underside with something to protect it.
There are some scrapes in the drivers door I will probably touch up.
I don't want it perfect - Diggin the clean old farm truck look.

No, and neither was a 390 until later models. I thought of asking, but Greg knows his trucks quite well, so he indubitably has reason to believe it is a 390!

Nice truck Greg! Let me know if you ever drive it up to Omaha. I had a very similar truck I bought in 1980. Mine was an automatic 352 and the opposite paint scheme blue/white/blue. I sold it two years later when the landlord told me I had too many cars. I kept the Datsun B210 and sold the F250. I was young and dumb, but learned the hard way to think things through.

No, not an RPO, despite having a VIN code listed for such. Camper Special was available with two engine choices as Regular Production Option, the 352 2v and the 300 six. Dealers were known to offer a 4v conversion, VIN and warranty plate would still reflect the as-produced engine ratings and info.

I looked at a 66 C.S. last year. He said his uncle bought it like that. C5AE-A intake, early 66 date. Makes sense what you said. There are factory and aftermarket Galaxie a/c set ups in my shop from that era. Dealers of that time had more leeway than we have today.

Yep, my father-in-law bought a new '69 Ranch Wagon. Wanted six cylinder, three speed, AC. Dealer said he had to order it. AC? Hmm, Humongous console-looking thing in the floorboard! Had Ford on it; but pretty sure the dealer saw an opportunity to get rid of unpopular inventory, and used that "order time" to add on the AC. Still have never seen another like it!
