Horn Button

Post by 6Slick5 »

This seems like a silly question, but I don't want to break anything. I want to remove the horn button on the steering wheel but it does not want to budge.

I thought it just twisted off to the left, but....

I want to pull the steering wheel and straighten it up, the left spoke points straight up.

And try to put some grease in the upper bushing/bearing to stop a squeaking noise coming from there.

Unplug horn.
Push down and turn about a quarter turn to the left. Should come right off.

Thanks!

I just wasn't pushing down hard enough. The horn had been disconnected before I got the truck. It has a remote button and a very loud horn hooked to it.

Have your Tie rods adjusted to straighten your steering wheel.
