3 speed floor shift?

Post by DocDave »

Was there such a transmission as a 3 speed with a shifter mounted to the top.
I had one on an old 57 dog but it was a rare transmission. I'd prefer not to go with a Hurst or column shift if I can find something like the old flathead F1's had.
From a guy without his Ford that he left on a rock in the North Atlantic.

Check out my floor shifter in my album. It is a Hurst in the Falcon console. I looks pretty sweet IMHO

Mid fifties Ford step vans had a 3 speed with a big shifter out the top just like a truck 4 speed. Thanks, Lyman.

Ford used a top loader 3 speed (new processs) in trucks for many years.it is a heavy duty fully synchronized trans(even 1st gear).
