Who uses their slick?

I went to the tip the other week to dump some things that needed to go. A few guys there commented on how much they loved the look of it but then said it's far too good to be used for dumping things. I kept going with my load and drove off.

Today I went to the landscapers to pick up some garden mulch. Needed over a cubic meter so half went into my trailer and rest went into the slick. Same thing again.... love the pickup but why are you using this????

I love using my slick when I need work done! Looks cool, does the job with ease (a/c would be nice!)

How many of you use the slick for chores?

I have two that I use on a regular basis , my everyday beater 66 short bed and my 66 short bed 4x4 I use as my fishing truck. The boat stays in the truck year round. I intend to go and pick up a 390 engine in my beater later today. I will however place a piece of plywood on the bed floor before I get the engine though. I should say the beater is a decent unrestored truck that needs attention but is very solid though abused somewhat over the years. Another round to-it, waiting for attention. Disc brake upgrade is in it's future, then a rebuild or replace on the 390 that is in it. Body work will have to wait.

In the past I owned a couple of late model F250s used daily. The 65 gets no special treatment.

Ahh, come on guys quit posting those picks.

Now I need to buy the anti rattle rubbers for my tailgate, I wouldn't have missed them if it werent for the uni pic.

And then I need to find a used B&W hide a hitch to go under the bed. Just in case I ever need to pull a fifthwheel trailer.

Keep em coming, I got to keep up with the rest of the slicksters. :thumright:

The two red and white two tone trucks above look good.

Don't have a current picture of my '66, but I made a ladder rack for it last year as I use it all the time. I avoid salt and snow, but otherwise it is my truck. I tow and haul with it. It's in good condition, but not as nice Leeroy's. I hesitate to paint it as then I would probably use it less.

I went to Houston in my truck a 260 mile round trip. I will haul something in it that wont scratch up the bed. Mostly for transportation and no working.

GVW was 19,000 +/- a few puonds. Ford knew what they were doing mating the 352 with NP435 and Dana 4.10:1 axle. That 352 is a standard bore OEM pistons and cam. All I did was advance cam 4° with D2TE-AA heads. That Edelbrock SP2P pulled torque in low while the Quadrajet sips the gas.

Not very smart of me, but a few times I left the landscape supply place with so much mulch, that my front tires barely touched the road. Was in a couple of homecoming parades too, with my son and some of his football team, where I'm told my rear bumper wasn't too far from the pavement.

I know this isn't a slick story, but Jerry's comment reminded me of it. At one time I had a 71 Toyota truck. Terribly under powered but it was was I had at the time. I picked up siding for my house in it. 12' boxes on top of 10' 2x4s hanging 5' out beyond the tailgate. Tied down in the front to keep from falling out. Every time I hit any type of bump on the road, it would slowly lift the front wheels off the ground and I had to carefully apply the brakes to bring it back down. Got a lot of strange looks that day and would love to have heard their description of the idiot in the mini-truck pulling wheelies on US 23.

I use my 64 F100 all the time. Cruises , lumber yard , landscaping , running errands. It is also my spare work truck for doing auto glass when the G*C has issues.

Hauled a four wheeler and a mowing deck for my buddy. Doors still worked even with the flex
Also hauled about 1200 lbs on a 850 mile trip. I've thinned out my trucks. It's the only one I have left so it it gets used.
