Radiator Core Support - 2 different par numbers

Post by wwhite »

I am about to order (finally) a new core support, but I have come across 2 different part numbers:
- C1TZ-16378-A
- C2TZ-16138-G

Dennis-Carpenter sells the C1TZ-16378-A (out of stock)
Others sell the C2TZ-16138-G

Is there a difference between these 2 or are they the same?

(i've also posted on ford-trucks)

Got a reply from another forum.
C2TZ-16138... is the original FoMoCo part number.
Dennis-Carpenter's number is made up.

I think I found a new supplier for the rad support.

Just an FYI the core support is different for a 6 cyl vs an 8 cyl. Dennis carpenter's was an 8 cyl support and i was installing a rebuilt 240 engine. There wasn't any room for the fan on the water pump.

Thank goodness from talking to someone who knew something (my dad), i had the radiator shop reverse the mounts on the radiator and everything worked out.
