New bed floor

Have the channels and have the wood. Next week I'm gonna cut the edges and drill the holes. Bed should look much better than the ground when you look in.

It's a job that's actually easier than it looks
A second pair of arms does help though ...

I would recommend one thing....
The bolts that go thru , that don't go thru an original brace....
I made a strip out of 3/16" x 1 1/4" flat steel
Drilled holes every 6" or so ..& used it instead of just the washers
Here is a pic of the bottom
Notice the original braces , plus the extra ones I built
These added strength & stiffness
Without any excessive weight or modifications to original bed
Very cheap & anybody can make it with simple tools

Looks like it worked out well for you. Great job. I love to see people do things themselves, rather than say "I CAN'T DO IT".

A person can usually do anything that they WANT to do..... you just have to WANT to.

Well, after cutting, planing, dadoing, staining an sealing the white oak i have finally put some wood in the bed. Still a few holes to drill and bolt down, but its pretty much done
