I think one can, but I haven't figured out how without tweaking every image. Photobucket is giving me problems now. If you want a simpler alternative try PostImage

I'm now using Flickr for images.
Re: Photos without photobucket
How much would we have to pay to get this site to be able to host pictures?

Re: Photos without photobucket
I am using https://vgy.me it is a third party, but seems to be working well. It is pretty easy to use. I wondered what it would take to bypass the 3rd party. Pretty new here, so don't want to stir anything up. My thought was keep membership and ability to post (including pics from third party sites free). If you want to post directly through the forum, a reasonable annual fee, to pay for the bandwidth that would take. Just a thought I would be willing to pony up a few $ a year to post directly.

I did a bit of reading on the software that runs this site "phbBB". I have to admit it was hard to figure out exactly what is possible. Someone smarter than me would have to look into it. That company does run a forum.
Does anyone here belong to a board where photos can be posted directly?
I really hope this doesn't force us all to Facebook.

Re: Photos without photobucket
Apparently there is a plug-in for phpBB that would allow posting directly to PostImage right from the forum, no account required. It would take some work by whoever is hosting the site to set this up, and I suppose there is no guarantee that they won't pull the same thing as Photobucket at some point in the future.mercuryv8 wrote:I did a bit of reading on the software that runs this site "phbBB". Pictures can be posted directly on the Y-blocksforever forum. It's buggy, though; works for some and not for others.
I have nothing to do with running that forum so I have no idea if it is software or hardware related.

I belong to several "free" groups that you can post directly to. 195 Chevy, Maverick, couple circle track....none need a 3rd party host. All are still free.
You can post a link to a picture here if it's already on the internet some place else.

I'm done with 3rd party hosts. It's only a matter of time until the next one does the same thing or goes under.

Re: Photos without photobucket
I cant view any pics that are posted using photo bucket, why is that?
Re: Photos without photobucket
You can post photos directly to the FEPower.net and MEL engine forum. Maybe some of our computer geeks can take a look make a better educated sugestion than I can. The fourth forum I am on if fordfe.com, they use third party hosting.
