Autolite 1100 air cleaner ?s

Post by Zax63 »

Does anyone have any pics of how the 1100 attaches to the stock air cleaner? Or suggestions for an aftermarket setup? I found a good 1100 and have it mounted and the truck finally runs. But I have no air cleaner and i'm not having much luck finding one, or making some kind of adapter. I have the air cleaner that was on the crappy Carter that came with my truck, but the opening is a half inch too big and there is no lip on the 1100 for it to rest on if I made an adapter.

This is only pic I have at the moment. It's the stock oil bath filter. It just sits on top with one screw down the middle to hold it in place.

I have a lead on an air cleaner from a mid 60's F100 with a 240. Looks close to the pics of the 223 air cleaners. Does anyone know if it will fit? Does the 240 use an Autolite 1100?

Stock 240 should have an autolite. Air cleaner opening is roughly 2 1/8".

If you need the mounting bracket on top of the carb still, I believe champion carburetors has them for about $20.
