Steering gearbox rebuilds

Finally got the grandsons truck started and immediately found all kinds of problems most of which were easily fixed. Leaks etc.. One which is a bitch though, and that is the power steering gearbox.. It was a used one I pulled off a truck, and I thought it worked. Leaking out the shaft seal and doesn't feel good driving. Junk I think. Thought about rebuilding it myself, but having never done one, I don't have a clue. If it were just the leak I would not hesitate to try a personal rebuild. The bad feel to it makes me think I had better buy another box and am looking at Orielly's rebuild with lifetime warrantee. Truck started and sounded great motor wise, although I had to adjust the clutch a couple of times for the gear shifter to go into gear right. Truck is a mess underneath from all the power steering fluid. Gear ratio seem to be to low with the 3.73 gears in the rear end and T5 transmission. Have to shift too quick, but until I have the steering box replaced, I will not get any more chance to drive the truck. Most likely will put it on the trailer and take it to the car wash to get the oil off it before I start taking the gearbox off. I read the previous post about the redhead gear boxes, and I feel correct in saying that those are most likely better than the rebuild I am looking at. However price is much better at 140$ and no shipping, and lifetime warrantee. However changing the box out is no fun either even though it is under warrantee.
