Has anyone on here used the FI tech fuel injection system on a y block? It looks like a pretty economical setup but it sounds like they could be hit or miss.

Considered it, but probably won't, in favor of a "stack" setup. Why do you say "hit or miss"?

Yeah, what do you mean by "hit or miss?" I'm curious about them but have not found anything, good or bad, about them when I've searched.

Charlie, I recently talked with a guy I was picking up parts from, who put an efi system in his 327 57 chevy pick up, and he loved it. He said he got great mileage in the low twenties and it handled altitude changes in stride... about a grand complete.

I have heard that since it auto adjusts as you drive it to tune, it sometimes never adjusts properly and can cause issues. I am seeing more and more of them at car shows and the price is decent. Some of what I have read it works awesome or it doesn't and the vehicle runs worse.

Keep in mind their Go EFI. Systems are user tuneable. And even the learning units require the initial setup that must be accuate and sometimes it's in the details.

So just like the old carb, sometimes it's the guy doing the tuning ,not the equipment.
:2cents:

When I build a non "peanut oil burner". I will use EFI of some nature...

I like the idea a lot and would like to try it. But already have a good reliable setup that I trust and it was also not cheap enough [carb setup] to just toss aside while i drop a grand on this experiment. I convinced they work and don't need a sales pitch. If I were starting from square one I would do it.

I've been running one of their GoStreet units for well over a year now and have nothing negative to say about it.
