source of door leak

Post by redstone65 »

I recently replaced the driver's side door weatherstripping, but still have two wet spots on the door frame when it rains:

The wet/rusting spot on the pillar section doesn't seem to be wet if I reach around behind it with my finger. Do you think these leaks are coming from a rusted through section of the drip rail? I don't see any rusted out spots on it, but there is shrunken/cracked seam sealer in it so there may be a hole covered up that I can't see.

In a word, Y E S . It's your best source for both leaks.

Those leaks sure look like they are coming from inside the panels, which would indicate a leak at the rain gutter.

Put your water hose on slow and lay on roof so that it just wets the gutter. that will give you an ideal where its leaking...
