What can replace my cigarette lighter

I am not a smoker, so my cigarette lighter isn't going to get any use.

I'm building a console on the hump, so I will be running a power outlet over there - but I'd like to re-claim the dash space. Has anyone put a different accessory in the spot? I'm thinking of turning it into a push-button for bed lights. Anything else I'm overlooking?

I tried searching for discussions threads on it, but all I could find is that apparently cigarette butts occasionally kill trucks. So that just reaffirms my decision.

You can turn it into a power outlet for the 12 toys.

I have a Wagner Electric 12V in mine. It is a chrome lighter with a switched bulb. I do not know its age, found it in a wrecking yard. I can send someone a picture for refference.

I put the pushbutton for the dimmer switch in one of the holes. I had installed a column with a dimmer on the stalk; but some of my in-laws kept getting their feet caught in the steering wheel spokes, so I moved it to the dash!

Well.....
his inlaws were probably so used to using their foot to dim the lights
That when he moved the dimmer to the column........

any kind of accessory switch would do the trick to fill the void.. if you have the cargo light on the back of the cab, you could use the space for that switch...
