Guys, I have sold my 66 F100, and sent most of my extra parts with it. I have a chrome rear bumeper with brackets that would need re-chroming. Is there a demand for something like this, or is it scrap?

Go to Dennis Carpenters, or Carolina Classics, and see what a re-pop bumper & brackets are going for, and then price yours according to condition. But by no means should you scrap it!!

The brackets were in demand, but don't know if that has changed. Bumpers can be bought new for less than chroming costs I think, but if it is a straight bumper I would not junk it.

I just bought a rear bumper from Dennis Carpenter and it's nice but made in Taiwan for 189 and got free shipping. I saw somebody had brackets for 50. Don't remember who. I had originals. Tom

Just a note of SAFETY:

Anyone even thinking of purchasing rear bumper brackets, don't worry about the price until you make sure you are getting a
(4 Pc. bracket set). There are some companies that offer THEIR version of a rear bracket, which is only 1 bracket per side. These DO mount the bumper on the truck and looks good, BUT are not safe enough to run a bumper mounted trailer hitch. They are for LOOKS only. If you never plan to run a hitch, these are fine.

Most 4 pc bracket sets run from 129.00 to 149.00 a set.

A $50.00 set, I'd be a little leary of.

Just my personal feelings, but I would be leery of ANY hitch mounted solely to the "sport " bumpers.

I agree with you Paul, but I'll guarantee you some folks would. I'd use a towing receiver that bolts to both frame rails, with a detachable hitch. That's what's on my 64.

Thanks for the input, guys. I listed on my local Craiglist for $75, and hope someone can use it....

Less than ten minutes of your time and an SOS pad, and you'll either get more, or sell it sooner;)
