Mustang tank filler neck

Post by shocker998md »

For the guys that have installed the mustang tank what are you using for a filler neck? I'm going to cut and use a hinge in the bed but I'm not sure what to do for a filler neck.

There are a 1000 ways to do this. I reused the metal part of my filler neck and cap that stuck out of the cab. I went to the local autoparts place and purchased the gas hose and clamps to put it all together. Once I re-installed my bed, I cut a hole for the filler to be just below the surface and made a door to cover it.

I will post more pics...my computer and internet are not cooperating....

As you can see, my bed was rusted out. I cut a 'door' for the filler neck.

Then decking lumber for my bed:

The only issue that I have ever had...was to fill the truck bed with lumber and then realize that I needed more gas...But otherwise, it is great as I can pull up to either side of a gas pump and fill my truck. I hope that this helps...

Did mine the same way as Steve, used the stock filler pipe, and new rubber hose.

I used a little different tank but maybe you could do this. I don't know how much room you have. Tom
