Clutch Z bar attachment to a 302
The 460 will be coming out and the 70 302 from my 65 custom 500 will be going in but since I still have the clutch linkage and pedals for the 66 I am thinking about going to a manual trans, would the Z bar attach to the spot in the block for the ball or is there a bracket that is needed.

The Z-bar should fit to the existing mounting point in the block.
You just need the insert that threads into the block with the ball/pivot that the Z-bar pivots on.
The frame end of this has a small bracket that bolts onto the frame directly opposite the hole in the block, with the same type of ball/pivot.

Just remember the ball has to be the same as the 352 or Few family for it to work right. Small block used a smaller ball than the FE if I'm not mistaken.

I will try to find a small block Z bar and related parts just in case,I kept all the clutch parts except for the trans when i converted it to a automatic.

better check your block that it has a place for the ball SINCE ALL 302's DO NOT HAVE A threaded place for the ball to attach to before you get to deep in it

The 1970 motor that I am planning on installing does have a place, now my 90s 302 and 351 do not but they look like they could be drilled for one.
