Anyone near the south west missouri area have some 61-64 front leaf springs that are in decent shape? At the price of them...I need some to hold me over..mine may last but they may not and its a daily driver...I drive the p!ss out of my 64...senior in hs so I don't have a lot of money rn. And new leafs are 380 bucks a corner..

380 a piece sounds kind of high.

Several places in southwest Missouri you can find those. Some very old junkyard there. Be sure to get new bushings for the springs and shackles. Makes a lot of difference in drive quality. Not as much wandering around of the front end. And 380 does sound very high but these do come with new bushings as a general rule which is some savings. However, the ones I bought, do not have the large rear eye for the bushings and use a smaller bushing like the one in front. Have not really driven mine yet to know the difference but has to be less shock absorbing ability.

I'm about 45 minutes away from Springfield. how many miles/ and or how well did they work before pulled and how much? I found a low mileage set in ks 180 miles from me. that I can get the front axle assembly, springs, rear end and rear leafs for $400. the 61 unibody he pulled it off of looked emaculent for what looked to be original paint. he says its a low mileage farm truck. still intend to do bushings, anti squeak parts and paint them up nice.

does anyone sell polyurethane bushings for the front? haven't heard a true statement of if they are better ride wise, someone claimed it would be stiffer over all. and do I need to use a special type of paint on leaf springs since they flex a lot?

wow that looks like it may have dropped some. and I knew general had the cheapest but I also have no way of gauging how good their products are. but I may have just forgot and got to thinking the 380 price was average...the rear is higher period if memory serves. but It will get new ones eventually but I'm a senior in HS so money is tight. And I need something safer than my old overloaded leaf springs right now...the rear is even worse...10 leafs per side to stay barley above level, and one eye on each rear leaf rubs the frame shackle the bushing is so far gone. My power assist control valve is on its way back from blue top steering gear as we speak 8)
