Took me a long road trip for parts Sat.

Post by Mr. Jones »

I left my house at 8:00 and headed east outta K.C for Columbia,Mo.wasn't sure how far I went till later...round trip was 360 miles.....seller had a Deere with forks he raised the cab I backed under it....... all loaded and strapped down in 30 min. Then headed home, traveled on I-70 both ways. The ol one tonner loved 55 max......

This first pic is last nite after getting home

Image

Next few are after unloading

Image

These fenders are the straightest ding free, rust free I've seen

Image

And this horn ring is the reason for the trip it was all or nothing with the owner....Years ago I saw one on eBay and have never ran across another one.....,

Image

Here's after a lil 0000 steel wool

Image

And for me here's the money shot........sometimes crazy and stupid take over when it comes to these trucks......but that's ok .....that 62 grill is totally straight will need buffed out and the fenders ....I might break even on this deal .........grill and fenders are for sale

Image

Befor this cab goes to the scrappers I'm cutting out all this good sheet metal, both sides are solid..

Well, that's the latest news from K.C.......time for a cold one..

Wish I could see the pictures Dan.

I ran to Springfield the end of last month, and picked up a 3.07 ratio Dana 60.
I never find anything picture worthy.

There they are! Nice fix Dan.

How much for the grille and fenders? How solid is the cab?

If that cab has the same column support as the smaller trucks I'll help ease the $ outlay.

Looks like a really cool truck and well worth the trip for that steering wheel.

Yep, 4 spokers are cool-bigger diameter as well. Is it true they will not work on a 1964 F100 3speed column? They need the open style column like on earlier year trucks ?
That's what I've been told. Never could get one anyway. So…I've had to move on
