Does anyone know who sells a radio speaker that fits my 66. I forgot how the old one came out but I'm assuming 4 screws go in from the top of the speaker grill. They measure about 4 3/8" apart and is the defroster hose 2 1/2" ? Thanks Tom

I think they are a common size ...
Radio shack ? ... I think any automotive store like NAPA
that Handles radios would be able to get the right size

Slick , the only size I found that was only one speaker was a 6x9 oval which I bought but is to big and when I checked a few auto stores everything came in pairs and no clue what distance apart the mounting holes were . Tom

It's been a long time since I fiddled with buying a speaker

LMC sells one ... but I think you could find a lot cheaper !

Radio Shack did carry some years ago that fit, and I have one of the boxes somewhere, but not sure where. If I can find it, I will post the number, but don't know how much good it will do, as I think those people are out of business. Also, they were closing out those speakers when I bought a pair, and were no longer carrying that brand. There is another issue with aftermarket speakers and that is the ohm resistance of the speaker and maybe other issues. It may be hard to find one that exactly matches the original on impedance. Does this matter, only if you want it to sound exactly like it should. From my experience, it does make some difference but may not matter, as the only time you can play the radio is at speeds of less than about 30 mph. Wind noise will stop most of us that are hard of hearing at speeds over that. If, your truck has not been worked over in recent years, new seals and sound deadening etc., the radio is almost not usable at all.
