Front fenders

How/where is the wheel well opening measured on the front fenders?
I'm assuming the repop ones are for 4x4/250-up trucks, but if these openings are larger than 2wd half tons, would they give more tire clearance on a lowered truck?

My note:
** AFAIK, the large opening fenders are not reproduced, and because of this, originals in good condition command a good price........

I have my doubts about whether those fenders would help for what you want. You may have to go to a fiberglass fender, which I believe are made in California, which are made wider and give more clearance on 4x4 trucks. I have a set on my 66 f100 4x4. Frankly, I personally don't like the fenders, and prefer metal, but these were on the truck when I bought it. I may someday replace these with stock, but not in the near future. If, you want to see what these look like, PM me with our email address, and I will send pics.

Distance is measured horizontally at bottom lower of opening. I agree, I know of no metal repops for the larger opening fenders; there are various 'glass ones available.
If tire clearance is your concern, I see no reason the larger radius wouldn't help; your'e gaining over 4" additional clearance.
